Who here amongst us TF fans haven't collected them? Heck, if not for the graphics, storytelling and nostalgia, would the popularity of the Transformers even reach this level of excitement? Well enough blah-blahs.....I've been noticing some inconsistencies cropping up and how dismal their editor does in keeping their storyline fairly consistent.
Remember the days when Marvel had editors like Jim Shooter? True believers among you know what I mean....but back to topic. Beginning with the first series, we are made to believe that the Ark 2's destruction was orchestrated by a human, series #2...Shockwave took credit. D'uh? I even questioned the seeming hostility portrayed by the native Transformers against the earth guardians like Prime and yet you have Red Alert, who was previously fighting the technovirus on earth now a member of the Cybertronian council doing Shockwaves' bidding. Was there no contact with Cybertron all the years of exile by the Autobots? If so, how come Shockwave manged to sabotage the Ark 2s return if no contact was made with earth? They couldn't have existed in parallel universes no? I raised this question....together with the points raised by the btwf site to the editor ( how come the Micromaster have their earth-modes? Didn't the Great Shutdown occur after Prime and the Ark departed? And Shockwave got into contact with Vector Sigma and reformated the sleeping Cybertronians to their earth-modes only recently?)
Hey, I'm not expecting that my letters be posted on the magazine or something, but after writing # 3 letters, I get zilch! Chris Warner, editor for Darkhorse Comics ( bless him) Ghost in the Shell series always responds to my intellegent querries ( I also got my letter printed in GITS 2: MMI.)
But, that is besides the point! Heck, even the "kiddie" Marvel Transformers followed some consistent path....now, it seems that Dreamwave is following the early Image way of dishing out plot after plot ( great production values though I'll grant them that) but in the process.....sort of insults the intelligence of the readers ( we're not some 8 year old kid anymore compadre!)
What say you guys?
