I'll pass on this.
I mean, why would I want half a Magnus?
I know this is how he appeared in the Dreamvave comic, but IMO Ultra Magnus is only UM when he he’s in his armour.
Takara probably will release this because they know that it will sell, which is a same as it completely ruins all that was unique about MP-Convoy.

I am sorry toymachine. There was NOTHING Unique about Masterpiece Prime. Everybody that wanted one got one. In Fact Many of them were clearanced by EVERY Walmart in America. Ultra Magnus will be much rarer, and thus MORE UNIQUE. Just my 0.02  |

I didn't say he was rare or hard to come by but he was special. Ultra Magnus will be much rarer, and thus MORE UNIQUE. Just my 0.02 Thus making the 20th Aniversary Optimus Prime less special. |

I meant unique as in the THE 20th aniversary figure. He will still be THE 20th aniversary figure. 2005 is what the 22nd year? Thus making the 20th Aniversary Optimus Prime less special. You know, I really liked the fact, back when I was a kid, that Ultra Magnus minus armor was just like Prime. I thought of them as "brothers", just like the decepticon jets. Both of them needed "power ups". Since Prime had the Matrix, Ultra had to use an armor. Anyway, both characters are very interesting. Prime is the quintesential hero. His death was amazing. He cannot be forgotten... Magnus is a guy we like because he failed big time and has to make up for it, just as humans do... Prime will always be bigger than him, in fact as a pop culture icon PRIME IS TRANSFORMERS!!! |

Just came across this from the Ultra Magnus thread in the SOC section. I was thinking about a Scourge version also. Need some bad guys for Convoy and Ultra Magnus to go up against.

I think one of the reasons people don't like this so far is because that pic is the WORST promo pic I have ever seen. It looks like someone did it with a Prime pic and White-Out ;D Sadly, I really don't beleive there will ever be a MP Megatron. I would LOVE to have one, but Hasbro couldn't sell it, but japan I dunno. That's not saying I don't want one, I just mean it's highly improbable. A MP starscream, or HotRod, or even Grimlock I would love, and it seems possible. But a megatron...mmmmmmaybe. The great thing, my favorite thing about this pic is that they're still gonna keep the MP line. At 100 bucks a pop (too impatient for price drops...  ) it's not as best selling as say, Armada Prime, but it DOES make the fans ecstatic, and many will buy more then one. And, with all the engineering going into these I doubt anyone will complain. Of course, the lack of a trailer for Magnus is completely IDOTIC, since that's only half of magnus. I mean, the original tech spec didn't even have a NAME for the small bot mode...aieee! I'm starting to sound like a transfan!  |
