1oldrobot- what are you looking to get for it if you do want to get rid of it? Sorry to hear about your tetsujin. is it the same kind that rodman75 just had fixed?

hi, i will sell it soon enough, but for now, im keeping it in my studio hoping i either squish it with heavy equipment by accident/on purpose, or stare at it contemptuously as i take breaks from work. i really do hope to feel the crunch of the armature beneath my feet as death metal records play tribute to its demise, though i doubt id actually physically destroy it. i need a little more hate time with it. when im done, ill sell him on the cheap. ill write you first. i think i can tolerate it for a couple more weeks. as for tetsujin, got him fixed. it was not a jumbo. it is a rommu model (17") that can be pretty delicate. dairugger left 2 scuffs of gold paint on tetsujin. tip of the day - remove paint smears using a plain old pencil eraser. tetsujin is fine save one spot of red on his belt. could have been worse.

You could get one of those leash backpacks that parents are putting on their kids now and tie him to the wall. I think He would look great with a monkey back pack tied to the wall.

that would be kinda cool. if anyone were to ask what it was, i could explain though its just a toy, hes retarded and too stupid to stand on his own, cant be trusted, is violent, and aggressive. toynami should have made a drool mechanism for this "jumbo."

Nail a sign to him that says "doesn't play well with others"

You should take pictures of Tetsujin giving him a butt kicking! That would be funny.

Don't get rid of him at all. Keep him as a teaching aid:
Display your heaviest robot collections at or near the bottom shelf so in case they dive they'll fall a shorter distance to the floor with minimal or no damage.
With that said, I'm glad it fell on the floor and Not on YOU.
Some collectors like to have their display shelves -eh-hm- ABOVE their beds because they think it's cool and such... ...in my opinion, it's NOT SAFE... why? Because if a robot specimen is displayed with a sword or other weapon in hand, dives off the shelf, stabs you in the eye while you sleep, then it would be difficult to read this forum with one eye, right! ;D
Truth be told, I learned that lesson HARD when my Yujin Mazinkaiser figure dove off and its Kaiser Scrander poked me in the side of my neck. Its wings are Wicked SHARP! ;D Since then I never again built a display shelf above my bed.
If you can repair it, take your time and do your best. For the price you paid for it, it's better to keep it. Someday it might no longer be made and then the price of it could get scalped way up high on eBay, and it could become difficult to find. So, enjoy it while you have it now. ;D

you may be right. my girlfriend and i are both pissed off at it, but someone had mentioned there are no other dairugger "jumbos." i think mine is number 3652/500. after im done being angry at my toy robot, ill re evaluate. as for shelves over the bed, i know that lesson. learned it early. my mom put my collection on a shelf over my bed when i was 10. my godaikin Gordian did a shelf dive and cracked me right on the forehead. i whipped up as many tears as i could, but inevitably still had to go to school the next day.

1oldrobot, i share the same sentiments and this is one risk I took for buying in YJ because if there is any fault with the toy that the photo doesnt shows, there is no resolution center like in ebay. I recently bought a pair of astroboy and astrogirl dolls from YJ, the figurines stand but something wrong at the foot of the astrogirl that when it is displayed, it is slanted one side. Sucks..
do you have any remedy for this?

if they are vinyl, boil enough water so that the part you are dipping wont touch the surface of the pan. if the vinyl is very thin you can do it with hot water under the sink. some people use blow dryers, but that always seems temporary when i try it, and a heat gun is an overkill and can easily distort the plastic. for thin vinyl going the boil route, dip it for half a second. thats plenty to restore the original shape of the molecular bond. if its thick, like the U5 garada feet, boil it for 5 seconds and check. i had to do it for about 15 seconds to get his feet spongy soft. have cold water running in the sink before you dip it in boiling water so once you set the shape you can cool and harden it immediately. i like buying jumbos w crushed heads because everyone thinks they are doomed. though ebay does have some creatively doomed pieces beyond repair, i have successfully restored a lot of these. as for receiving an item that is misshapen it may not be any fault of the seller. vinyl in a box for two weeks from very hot and humid japan, to usps in a hot truck is enough to warp thin vinyl. i specifically look for distorted vinyl pieces and models on the cheap that i can fix.
