How does it compared to God Raijin-Oh? Is this Baan Gaan as sloppy as that?

"Baan Gaan"......
...........I don't mean to poke fun at that robot... ...but, every time I pronounce that name, I get the sensation of someone out in a back alleyway bangin metal trash cans all over the place. ;D

Well blow me down! That's a darn good deal! I paid full price for that set a few years back! It was released in July 2006 and limited to 2200 units only. I didn't do a full review back then, I only took pics. But the Mach Sperion is made of plastic (think Cm's Mekanda) while the Baan Gann has nice components of both plastic and diecast. I remember thinking the toys felt somewhat fragile, heck I didn't even try transforming them into vehicle and beast modes. The combined form is very, very impressive to look at but poseability is next to a brick. I was worried that the wings would not hold but they do. For the price of that set now though I think it would be very worth it. But I think God RaijinOh is better. Gold

Yikes, if you think God Raijin Oh is better, that would give me major pause to picking this one up >.<. God Raijin Oh is probably my least liked brave figure - all fiddle and no fun .

I liked the Raijinoh itself, posey with decent amounts of diecast and proportions are good, but God Raijinoh was indeed like a brick and a bit disproportioned in some areas and has very minimal poseability. The Great Baan Gaan is much worse in this sense. Thanks to the huge chest plate and heavy lower legs. The Sword is a bit tricky as well since it's Spherion as the crest of the sword and there's some parts forming to form the sword around the tiny Spherion.
Makes me wonder how Takaratomy would've done it had the Brave Masterpiece line continued to make all the Braves.

Makes me wonder how Takaratomy would've done it had the Brave Masterpiece line continued to make all the Braves. Probably better than CM's. I was really impressed with their Masterpiece King Exkaiser. But CM's does make gokins that command shelf presence, even though they're lacking in playability.

Yup jumped the gun & pulled the trigger on this one lol. It has been one of my Brave grails for quite sometime alrdy. I mulled for quite abit when I first saw the HLJ sale listing but at that kinda price who can resist! Btw TFW2005 member Jarrod did some nice mods to his recently purchased DX GBG, now it does an awesome "A" stance. Pixs credit to Jarrod of TFW2005

I am like my kababayan (countryman) GOLD where I purchased one back when it was an exclusive, but I probably paid more than full price since I wanted it so bad at the time (from evil-bay ). I wish I could have bought one now for that HLJ price instead of how much I bought mine for. As for the quality, I have the God Raijin-OH as well and IMO the G.Baan Gaan is better. The God Raijin-OH really frustrated me with its lack of some attention to detail, difficult transformation, and so much of: Taking this piece off to transform it into this - Add this piece on to transform it into that-etc... Yeah as you can tell I prefer near perfect transformations.... Now, IMO that red large SR of G.BaanGaan is rather difficult to transform and the directions aren't exactly too clear on specifying which particular part needs to be swiveled/moved. 1 of the best parts I do like with CM's stuff is the small vehicles they add to their toy kits like their transformable hawk and car they added here with G.BaanGaan. Reminds me of SHE small vehicles. One warning to those of you who are purchasing G.BaanGaan, the box is HUGE. Approximately 20+ inches wide, 8 inches deep, and 14+ inches tall. The box is overall light compared to its size, but take into consideration the shipping cost of it since it is big and the storage of it if you plan to keep the box! The overall design of G.BaanGaan once fully transformed is better than God Raijin-OH. I guess that's why I will be selling my God Raijin-OH soon....

I think xiombarg is going to be furious...
Gold, can you confirm whether Baan Gaan is perfect transformation or not? I don't really remember from reading xiombarg's review a few year's back, but I believe it's not, and there are necessary parts removal / swap for the final combination.

Great Baan Gaan has a tooooooon of parts swapping, for all of its transformation and combination modes. It's very much not a perfect transformation.

^ To be clear to everyone above here, I did not mention that G.BaanGaan was a perfect transformation only that I prefer it (like Masterpiece TF's). From the last time I opened and played with my G.BaanGaan there is quite a few parts swapping and it is NOT a perfect transformation. ~B

I think xiombarg is going to be furious... Well.. yes, I'm ticked. But at the same time it seems to be the norm these days to screw the guys who support these companies and their figures only to have something better and/or cheaper come along a few months later. I suspect this is leftover stock because CM's had these for sale for quite a long time before they finally took him down. Oh well, what do you do. As for the figure, I still really like this figure. He's sturdy enough for me, but as has been stated, almost no posability. You are pretty much limited to arm movement. There are tons of different transformations you can do, but they are all parts swappers. He's really big and looks great on the shelf. I love the character but I truly wish SOC would do him more justice, most especially in the posing department.

Well, not exactly perfect transformation, but it's not a "swap a better propotioned part from the tray" kind of transform either. Almost everything goes somewhere so there isn't too much kibble laying around after the Great Baan Gaan transformation. Gold

Thx for the clarification, xiombarg, gold and rizuan!
Does the numbering label on the upper right edge of the box refers to the limited nature of the product, or is it just your way of cataloging your collection, johnny0?
