The flipping TRI-Team emblem feature makes sense. That's one extra set of little disc swap parts you have to keep track of with the vintage Clover set.
Whole thing looks pretty good!

Exactly! That's what killed it for me. It is too expensive of a figure to not be happy with it... }D

Well whether the color of the legs is popular or not, that IS the anime accurate color. Its actually more grey than the magazine depicts it in every other image, see this one in better light. The magazine photo is dark i belive giving it a less grey and more blue tone. The legs are grey, the leg features and groin area are blue indeed.I guess if you dont liek the anime robot itself, you would'nt like the toy, since its basically represented the same.I for one am getting two.Its not my FAVORITE robot by any means, but it is in the 70s/80s demographic so it belongs in my collection.I for one am MUCH more excited about the Tekkaman Pegas release by CMS.

I wonder if the grey'ish color is because of the orange spotlight.. Either way i accept any of these color. The main thing for me is this robot looks amazing because of bandai's evolution in designing them..

To me, the best seller was the robot's proportion. What I don't understand is why the designers chose two different shades of blue for two of the components, instead of choosing different colors like the majority of the design at that time.

needs some metallic paint to it. the jeans blue colored plastic doesnt look goood... I agree, it needs to have some kind of 'metal/diecast' feeling in this toy. Perhape metallic paint is what it needs. I am not into the look and design, not sure if I will get this one.

It looks awesome! The proportions are very good! I just wish they would remake zambot with all the recent improvements in toy design.

Really? My SOC Zambot stands straight perfectly fine. As a matter of fact, that's how it has been displayed since I got it many years ago... But yes, a new improved Zambot and Voltes (ala GX-50) would be great! ;D }D

Zambot does not stand straight up unless at least one of his knees are slightly bent, its teh nature of teh robot, his feet have a space above them so he leans forward unless you tilt him back.Look on google images 99 percent of teh photos have a knee bent slightly or both..He does not naturally stand straight up,in most every pic I see of him one of the knees are bent. watch this review at about 4:57 you will see what I mean. Also at after 6 min you see his knee is bent. You can get him to stand somewhat straight but its not easily done, mayeb you have a lucky one,but ive never seen one...also lifted this from the collection DX review: 5.Ankle - The Zambot 3 tends to lean forward. Found out the ankle did not have the proper resistance to handle the weight, so it leans. The ankles could have use a ratcheted section to give it some balance and a stable stance.
Anyway sorry I know its not a Zambot thread!

Oh you mean you have to slightly hyper extend the knees, yeah that's a pretty common thing with SOC's since they do tend to be top heavy plus for some reason Japanese designers like the old crotch thrust look with the center position of the ankle slightly behind the center point of the shoulders. I guess the look is more dynamic and you can see it in almost every blueprint drawing in the SOC books.

Yes that too,but I actually mean with zambot one click of the knee so one is straight and teh other is not hyperextended but just clicked in a normal knee bend fashion, otherwise he falls on his face, there is an empty space between his legs and feet like Daltanious{Dal;tanious has no probs though with this}so if you lean him a bit forward he tilts forward.,see how if hes straight he leans back slightly, also notice space between feet so he cant go forward without falling.pics here are good examples... counter-x.net/soul_of_chogokin/zambot_3/index.htmlanyway enough about this.Mazingers if yours can stand straight your lucky, maybe teh joints are extra tight or something, but for teh majority of ones Ive seen in collections including mine its just teh nature of the beast. Notice in the straight up pose,he IS leaning back in the link photos, and one leg is slightly forward and teh other slightly bent, hard to see from teh front but it is.. Chen I believe this is what you mean...he isnt exactly straight but groin out...

Haha, seems you either got a defective one or I got a perfect one. Either way, mine stands straight perfectly fine. Of course, I've been handling these figures for a long time, and know how to make them work, so that might also play a good part in it. }D Zambot does not stand straight up unless at least one of his knees are slightly bent, its teh nature of teh robot, his feet have a space above them so he leans forward unless you tilt him back.Look on google images 99 percent of teh photos have a knee bent slightly or both..He does not naturally stand straight up,in most every pic I see of him one of the knees are bent. watch this review at about 4:57 you will see what I mean. Also at after 6 min you see his knee is bent. You can get him to stand somewhat straight but its not easily done, mayeb you have a lucky one,but ive never seen one...also lifted this from the collection DX review: 5.Ankle - The Zambot 3 tends to lean forward. Mine is not defective,it stands straight, but straight is a relative term I guess.Im talking 90 degrees straight, the pic above is leaning back slightly, and thighs arent straight, maybe im looking too deep into this, ill post mine after.Did you watch the video I posted and see what i mean?if so than that one is defective too,and all the ones in the google pics, and 2 of my friends,so maybe you have a seriously lucky one mazingers ,can you post it standing straight at 90 degrees with the knees locked and from the side without leaning at all please?thanks.Maybe mine is defective, but until I see one from the side at 90 degrees Ill buy a new one then, haha.
