If it is a replacement head you'll have to remove it every time you transform him, I don't think it's small enough to fit inside. Not sure the ball joint will hold up to the constant stress, I'd be worried about it snapping.

It will most likely fit during transformation because the head is similar in size. This is like everyone was worried about the igear kup head not fitting right due to the cygar. Just look at the red part on the shoulder and compare it to the size of the original head, and then do the same for the new one. New one is very slightly bigger so it should fit during transformation.

Maybe, I'd prefer it was a helmet so the armor was more like armor and not necessary to complete the figure. Be better to still preserve the original figure without having to remove any parts to make the armor work.

I'm really loving the Maketoys Devastator. What an exciting time it is to have 2 different 3rd parties competing to make the fans Devastator. Competition always results in 1 winner: the customer (us).
I like the large scale size of the TFC version. But I also like the G1 accurate style of the MT version. I'll be getting both.

8000 yen? Man, that is a lot of yen. These color pictures are somewhat dissappointing also. If they are going to charge 8000 yen for a trailer add on, I can't help but to think they will want at least 5000 yen per piece of their Devastator. And @ 30000 yen, that ain't all that much cheaper versus the TFC version. Hopefully the imported prices from BBTS will be relatively low, @ no more than $80 for this trailer add on and no more than 50$ per piece for them scout size Constructicons.

Giant's individual members in vehicle modes. At first glance, they look like Legends/Cyberverse figures.

thanks for the update shinobi.
Yes those prices aren't cheap!
For Giant: 10,500 Yen (136$) per 2 bots. Release at December, 2 bots per release until Febarury, for a box set, 31500 yen (410$)

If the "revised" Seaspray and Powerglide are the same size as their original minibots, and the Optimus Prime is the size of a Voyager, then the Maketoys attempt at Not-Devastator is going to be pretty big in its own right. However, their vehicle forms remind me a bit of the "EZ" version Revenge of the Fallen Devastator - you know, the tiny one that had robot forms for each vehicle. Kind of hard to tell what the final painted product will look like. Still cool, but also still glad I sided with TFC's attempt. Looking forward to seeing BOTH finished Devastators though!! It's a good time to be a Transfan.

And for a third party Devastator, I'd rather pay (approx) $400 than $600 though. I'll probably give this Prime a miss and use the money for Devastator.

The 8000 yen price is for that website upgradecommander.com. 3verything is way overpriced at that website. They priced the causality insecticon figures at 6499 yen. In comparison, if you pre order the Causality Insecticons from BBTS, they cost 48$ each. With pile of loot shipping, it cost me only around 52$ a piece. Since the yen price for that web site put the two constructicon pieces at 10500, which means 5250 a piece, which is lower than the 6499 yen they want for the causality figures, so it is stil possible to get the Constructicons for around 50$ a piece and way under $400 from US retailer.
Over $400 is a little hard to swallow, but I will still buy it. @ 300 will be ideal for me. Less than 300$ will be a dream. The only good thing is that TFC is spreading their releases slowly which makes it easier on my wallet.

My bad. I just checked BBTS website. Insecticons are cheaper there.
Are Maketoys Japanese based? Where else can be we buy Maketoys at a cheaper price?

what happens if takara makes a their own masterpiece devastator each fig slightly shorter than mp9 rodimus. Although knowing takara they would charge it at 250 each. If and when this happens, you will have some fanatics that will jump at them at that price, while the rest will buy them at a fraction, $50 a pop, from Hasbro. Maketoys is Japanese base, but there isn't any indication that they are strictly limited to oversea's market. And if I remember correctly, Fansproject not only help them out by bringing their prototypes to BOTCON, but is somehow helping to finance some of their projects. At least this is what I was told by the guy at the TFSource booth at BOTCON this year. Two US retailer that will most likely get them are TFsource and BBTS. Robotkingdom from HK will also be another place that will likely carry Maketoys. Please note, guys read the post over at TFW2005. I don't know how accurate the source is but the post said that this Devastator will be in Yellow, G2 color scheme. There aren't any word of it being the traditional color Devastator, and these are sold as two packs

^ If in yellow. Not buying.
Did maketoys hire an ex Takara marketing staff who suggested Yellow?
