Well I have been out of the robot game, as I sold off all the Godaikins I put together last year ..... All is well as I have a new part time job working at the silver an gold coin shop since I also collect silver an gold coins as well. I also bar-tend and buy an sell on ebay often. I have sold everything this past winter, from Lionel train sets, to G.I Joe lots, lol.... And the robots, nothing I have experimented/invested in holds the value an interest of these die-cast Godaikin/Popy robots. When I put mine up for sale I tried to sale in a large lot, no nibbles as many wanted it but probably had examples in the lot, and was just interested in one or three themselves. But when I turned them loose solo, main they did not last long..... Anyhow, starting back my collection, and this time I am going in with pacific goals.... It is my dream to own a deluxe vintage Godaikin or DX Tet 28, Combattra, or Voltes V. Always wanted a Daltanias and a large Dynaman as well..... I have started my new collection with a real nice Dairugger 1982 matchbox, complete nice, friction engines work, and it should be here this week. Won him at 74 even via no box, but great price I figure right now in slow winter economy being as nice as it appears to be, we will see.... I also took a HUGE gamble on a Tread master 1997 Voltron III Lion, with solid C-8 box an nice no pant wear tight joint Voltron with nothing missing but missiles. No picture on ebay add, got it for 84 total. Big gamble no pictures, but it showed up today and it is real nice, display great I can add pictures if anyone is interested..... I took interest as it was a re-release in 1997, and supposedly it sold out at Toys R us real fast, die-cast nice remake. Next year was plastic, so this piece already is pretty sought after, for being just 15 years old.... Next, I would like to add a Voltron II, preferably the harder to find older Japan version with the combining swords. That would be a cool three piece set, via all three Voltron's being different brands an times....

Scratch the Combattra of the list as I snaked a real nice example only missing a few missiles and rough box for 397 total, via Godaikin gold box 1982 version....
I could care less about missing missiles as I only care about display and I have at least two of each one. Only missing that suspender belt unfortunately as well....
So I have Voltron I matchbox 1982 and III 1997 Treadmasters, as well as Combattra now....

Nice! Sounds like a great price for the Combattler. Great way to restart the collection.

Thanks for sharing! The Combattra is a later Godaikin Engrish/US release. The original Popy is the Combine-IN-Box.
Glad to see you getting back in the game/

Hey thanks Jon an good call on that. I was just thinking with the Japanese markings and no Godaikin written anywhere in site, it may not be the American version. The dead give away however, is it has an old toys R us sticker. I wish I could make out how much it originally listed for....

Haha that Combatra was the one I tried to buy on Ebay from the guy outright. I actually offered him $350 when he first listed it at $225, and then offered him $400 before shipping 2 days before bidding ended, and he still declined it. I bid I think up to $325 or so then stopped and let it go even though I had the money. But I was williing to pay $400 for it long before the end. Thats funny and small world. Good buy, as it does appear to be in real nice condition. Its good he took the toys and packing out first before shooting the holes in the box. But it won't be difficult to locate the missing parts. I am sure someone here, the Robot Shop, or Steve at Agintoys has the parts you need.

Wow all to cool you bid on him. Funny, I offered him 500 for it, and he would not take it. I really wanted a Combattra, and I did not figure I would see one again of the level I wanted and still missing enough to possibly replace, and still be a nice enough (the robot at-least) to not be considered junk....
He was not real happy when it ended for less then what he had been offered, and he claimed he had been offered more for it. It ended on a Sat and I could not pay till like Tues, when money transfer would hit my account. And he was like kinda of loosely threatening to sell it to another for a higher price, but I don't think in the end he wanted to open that can of worms, and I did pay within 3 days of auction end....
It ended at 397, so many had it pegged around that price I figure....
Thanks also for that great info, I will check on that as I would like to grab the suspender belt, and I need many of the smallest missiles as I only have one. I only need one each of the larger blue missiles and I think that is it. Those are real key for re-sale for sure, but really does not matter to me. My attitude on missiles, usually if I have one I am fine. Like with K-7, eye missiles so two does look cool, as like big Tet 28 looks better if displayed with 2 chest missiles instead of 1 I imagine. But other then that, not really to worried....
Wow, I did find a Gundam Dx when machinesoldier was selling his which crossed a grand seems like. Well, I found a mint gem right out of neighboring North Carolina, but his was missing only staff. Kind of key an about impossible to find I figure. I offered 475, he wanted 500, I was thinkin hard on it, an waiting on a card to clear, and it sold for 599 listing price, and he had already told me I could have for 500.....
Talk about MISSING THE BOAT, you freakin snooze, you loose people is the lesson here, lol. But, I couldn't pull the trigger, over that freakin missing staff....

Wow sil80 great find, I see you got Stealth Voltron there. His paint chips easy, if yours is mint he would bring big money, complete an all....
That Treadmaster in mint box Voltron III lists for about 150 to 165 shipping an all....

Awesome thanks for the info, yup the stealth voltron is brand spanking new never opened! I figured he would be worth the least because of the design. But that's good to know

I can't guarantee that, but I did notice a couple of that model with some paint chips, the seller said this is common with this piece, and they had no box an still were listed around 250 seems like....
Does it require batteries, seems like it does. And is it bad old school like double AA battery tech, which of course if those batts left in, ruin their host electronic items....
I know the Max factory Big O runs on a watch battery, but not power required to simply light up his tiny head, lol. Not sure what the Voltron needs them for, or where I seem to recall it requiring batts to begin with.....

You also have the the Voltron III Treads that is all plastic I THINK, but it has the neat feature of the figures which fit into the cockpits, pretty neat....
I would not be surprised if you could get around 500 or so for all three sets....

The Stealth about $120-150 The Lion Trendmasters about $130-155 (some on ebay now not selling) The large one will probably fetch $300 or a little more.
Do plan on selling?

Hey, thanks for the heads up! Yea I think I'm gonna sell these bad boys, just have no room in my collection for them. Just wanted to gauge what the 12" ones will sell for.. I'm really torn about wether to sell the big one or not. The light up eyes and the missile shooting action are really making me wanna keep it

The one you say you wish to keep, I am guessing it has zero die-cast, is this correct? I know I have read the 1997 Tread Lion III is the only one made with die-cast, an in 1998 an there after all were just made of plastic.... How big, is the big one by the way, like a jumbo or something perhaps?

How big, is the big one by the way, like a jumbo or something perhaps? Its 2 feet tall, quite beautiful, with an abundance of gimmicks, recently sold mine in anticipation for the mattel one.

HEy guys my 12" voltron is indeed the 1997 release and is die cast packaged in good old styrofoam. I just read at collectiondx that they had a limited run of gold weapons and I believe this is that version. At first I thought it was the chrome version just yellowing because of the age. But it is indeed the gold version
