Daiku Maryu Limited to 100 pieces....Now 50?! I didn't see this anywhere so hopefully I didn't miss it, sorry if this was already posted. From: tendoutoys.blogspot.com/2012/05/evolution-toy-dymaite-action-daiku.htmlWe have previously reported that Evolution Toy is in the works of the original Gaiking as well as Daiku Maryu. More info has surfaced for Daiku Maryu! First off, the size is going to be around 80cm. (Long, most likely) Second, this is going to be a limited production only 100 pieces! So this is going to be a limited item and with a hefty price tag of 20,000 Yen! I mean what's the point of having Gaiking but no Daiku Maryu right? Scheduled to be release in August! This is probably going to be the biggest Daiku Maryu to be ever release in the toy market! But in this June 1st update it says now only 50 pieces!! tendoutoys.blogspot.hk/2012/06/evolution-toy-dynamite-action-daiku.htmlEvolution Toy has revealed more info on their anticipated Daiku Maryu. The size is 630mm x 290 mm and you can see the size comparison with their Gaiking... it's so huge! There are a lot of gimmicks you can do with Daiku Maryu as depicted in the series too! Looks like this will be the best Daiku Maryu toy but only 100 pieces (now 50).... scheduled to be release in August! If those numbers are correct, then it would be Japanese exclusive, only available at the Evolution Toy shopping site, and would cost a ridiculous amount of money.

So, they went fron 80cm long to only 63cm. Hmmm, that's 17cm less which is about half a foot shorter. Not liking this, not liking this at all... }[

they were probably including the head before and horn length, when Gaiking is attached,a possibility.

I know he ain't pretty at all but he is pure funk. I have such a fondness for this character, I was building models of it when I didn't even know anything about it. My mom bought it for me and it was at a great time and place that I have very fond memories of that time. When I see this robot I'm reminded of those times and that's what I love most about this hobby :-). I can't wait to see coloured prototypes of it.
Plus the chances of another Astrager figure being made is pretty slim.

Yikes! That is a pretty high price for an all-plastic figure. I understand it comes with all the air, land, and sea option parts, but wow... that's a lot of money. I wonder if the one with Baruba comes with all the option parts also. I like Koutetsushin Jeeg, but I don't like it that much... }D

Well, according to the description, it does come with all the option parts AND Baruba. I guess that is more reasonable, so I pre-ordered one. }D

I'm surprised we haven't even seen a prototype of Daiku yet. Its suppose to come out next month and all we've seen is a drawing. I have a feeling it might get delayed which is bad but good for the bank account. But I can't wait to get it, its gonna be the centerpiece of my classic SR display. I'm gonna display it with all the 70's based Nagai SOC's I'm seriously geeking out lol. I've been wanting a huge Daiku to display with my SOC Gaiking since that figure came out!

Yeah, I remember when Bandai released the GX-05 Daiku Maryu with tiny Gaiking. Folks were all bent out of shape because Gaiking was so small and pretty much would fall apart if you looked at it wrong. But then came the GX-27 and then people wanted a made to scale Daiku Maryu to go with that one... ;D

Yup GX-05/05R is a nice piece but the Gaiking it came with was a joke. Hopefully we see some finished product soon, I can't wait. In anticipation I modified my GX-27 so the legs wouldn't collapse at the slightest touch, its now super stable and able to hold more dynamic poses now. You lose the retracting leg gimmick but the mod is so easy it would only take 5 minutes to un-modify it.

Sure no problem. First take apart Gaiking and remove the feet. You will see two screws near the bottom of the leg, unscrew. Be careful about the spring in there.

Slide up the leg cover, you'll see a plastic cradle that's the part that slides up and down and is suppose to lock the legs in place. You can see that it's not really designed well enough to hold all that weight.
