I assume that my fellow proboard membes have been watching (and maybe even bidding) on the Voltes V for sale on E-Bay.
Even though it's incomplete, the condition of the item and box is fantastic. It's flirting with the $7k mark already and there are a couple of more days left in the auction.
It's obvious that this Jumbo is rare, I just never thought it would call for that type of money. I don't know who the seller is, but I bet he/she has an enormous, impressive collection.
I hope he is satisfied with the final sales price of the Voltes and decides to unload the rest of his (presumably) rare collection of Jumbo's.
He/She's got to have a Combattra, Poseidon, Danguard Ace, Grendizer, etc.....given the condition of his Voltes, the rest of his collection must be mint!

I bought a couple of rare diecasts (in very mint condition) from him early last year. Said he was dumping his collection and I was eagerly waiting for the next batch, but then he went silent. This is the first I've seen him list any jumbo's, though.

I'm waiting eagerly for him to unload his collection. I sent him a message to see if he'd be unloading more and am waiting on his response.

I would post the typical, "no posting about live auctions!" post here but once an item reaches the stratosphere, it doesn't seem like a couple extra RJ members bidding on it is going to tip the scale.
I saw the Voltes go up right at the beginning- I had just done a search and it was $500 starting. I had hope. I thought- $2,000 maybe.
But this is bananas. Someone do a 3d scan of Voltes V for Christ's sake. Then all 30 of us who are desperate for him can have SOMETHING at least.

ah! now people are sympathizing with my 3d scan notion. i may revive that idea since that studio that does the scans called me on friday to see if i was on the map or not.

Voltes is the #1 want of mine and has been for MANY years...but it's just way too rich for my blood. I was REALLY hoping the rumors of more Toynami Shoguns were true since I heard they were thinking of doing Voltes after the Voltrons...

Looks like a couple people retracted their bids and dropped a couple thousand.

I saw that......still out of my league.....but still on my wants list! Seller didn't put a reserve on the auction so they must've been pretty damn confident. However, after hearing of truecrud's dealing with E-Bay, the seller could just refuse to sell the Voltes and that would be the end of it.

I can't find the listing on the Yahoo Japan, it must've been purchased already. Any chance you can post a link to the auction on YJ? Thanks

The voltes V was ended prematurely. It seems harder and harder for us to catch the top Popy Jumbos nowadays. Even if one appears once in a blue moon in ebay, it is still subjected to sellers market. To me this transaction it seems like it is unable to meet the seller's prefered selling price. In addition, there seems to be some shill bidding going on due to the last min cancellations of a few "big bids". Brother's truecrud recent encounter with the Com V buy in ebay adds on to it. Seller's market? I hope it is otherwise, maybe some bro here has reached a price with the voltes V seller so that he has delisted it?

I sent the seller a question regarding what other jumbo's he might be auctioning up in the coming days, weeks, months and he never responded.
