Congrats rodman. A very cool jumbo added to the case. Pretty soon, all the U.S. boys are gonna be without their own private home

Congrats for this great addition. I personally wouldn't touch the stickers on that one, it's not like it's a complete junk, better keep it as original as possible.

Wow great score! The collection is looking really nice! I see some Matel's are loosing their spots to their Popy Brethern.
Need to line up the trio together in the central units though. Danguard, Combattler & Raydeen!

Danguard is one of the best Jumbo ever made. This toy is close to perfection. But I wouldn't have restore him like that, he was really looking great already without having to restore every stickers and make some touch up paint. Maybe just the missing stickers and add the wings and the legs blades.
Well, that's just my personal taste so it's up to you. Anyway, congrats it's a great toy to add in your growing collection.

I know that putting on repro stickers, despite looking phenomenal, doesn't help value. It looks awesome though, much better than before. My investment at this point in is happiness. Maybe someday if I decide to sell, it won't be worth as much as an original, but judging from the price of the repro'd Voltes V, it wont exactly be worthless, LOL!
I guess you could sum up my collector habits as 'perfection over purity'
Thanks for the kind words! Hope to have some update pics soon.

its quite possible that the outside japan collectors circle for jumbos is somewhat small. constant speculation of prices in print within that circle is certain to keep prices going up.

Even with a small number of active collectors, say several hundred or less, the prices for the more common ones haven't dropped a lot. Daimos seemed more pricey a year ago, than this year I think though. With more people going East for the more rare jumbos, those are going to raise until the collectors either decide to give up or switch to other collecting. Always interesting how guys that were collecting 10 years ago for picking up MIB stuff for "X" amount of dollars and now many of the same loose, non-complete ones are demanding that price or much more. Darn, supply and demand Hard to say when collectors get a little older and how much the current generation of 20-30 year olds will be interested in the jumbos. Prices could drop quite a bit 10 years from now for the more common or non-MIB ones. Or we will still be fighting for the same ones that don't come as often yet and still big price tickets.

You also have to take into account the fact that with any out-of-production vintage item the rarity of each piece will tend to increase over time due to more of the actual items being lost due to any number of reasons such as fire, natural disasters or the worst... being given to a small child..

Gil,
I knew you had a phenomenal collection but seeing it in person makes it that much more impressive. How about taking some of those awesome boxed Jumbos out for a complete group picture!
