Does anyone have any information on the "Bandai Dino MegaZord Diecast Collector Edition" that was shown at this year's Comic Con? It looks like a re-issue but with a new paint deco, DIECAST and maybe some added articulation and not the watered down version last released. This could be the Dino MegaZord we have been waiting for! ;D Does anyone know anything more? I'm surprised more information on this was not released.

I saw it at SDCC. Honestly, it looked identical (to me) to the SRC one. Just much larger. It looked very interesting. They had ZERO info about it though. LAME

Yeah, I can't believe there is not more info on it. The only thing I do know is that it is coming out in 2013 but I don't know where and for how much. I did find out from another board that this could possibly be a re-release of the 2010 MMPR Megazord with certain parts remolded in diecast metal. I would hope that since Bandai is going through all the trouble of recasting parts in diecast that they would also give it actual wheels were necessary and not just nonfunctional molded wheels along with added articulation and details. This is of coarse the same company giving us the EPIC DX Mazinger Z but at the same time they could be sitting back and seeing how the DX Mazinger Z does here in the west before they do more with the Dino Megazord. Who knows Here is a better picture I found:

So its a non-combining toy based on a combining toy but with better paint and articulation? Well it looks good but I think ill stick with the SRC one, but kudos to those who will buy this its still one of my MMPR Zords.

This should also be in the Power Rangers/ Sentai thread.

Chen, thanks for moving this to the right spot.
I liked the proportions of the 2010 re-release Dino MegaZord but I did not care for the molded wheels and the ablility to link up with the Vehicle Zords which had pilots way out of scale.
If Bandai adds real wheels, takes away the Vehicle Zord attachment gimmick and adds the diecast this will be a must have. More articulation would be icing on the cake.

while this is going to be made in diecast which is pretty cool, this toy version of the Megazord i never liked it. Its that concept of the stupid skinny long legs with a wide upper body and the stupid interchangeable part gimmick crap, still prefer the old one. And since this is just a reissue of the 2010 version in diecast version then its not gonna have extra articulation.
would love that it had more articulation but it was sacrifice for the stupid gimmick of interchangeable parts that it kills it.

I never had the original Dino MegaZord but I have to say, I like the actual look of the proportions on the this new MegaZord in robot mode.
To me it is much like the difference between the original Bandai GoLion and the Toynami Masterpiece Voltron.
It looks like there is a lot of potential with this upcoming MegaZord namely giving up the cost saving and child safety issues that plagued the 2010 version. Seeing how this is the "Collector's Edition" that should be easy.
Here is a good comparison video I found between the original and the 2010 Dino MegaZord (what the "Collector's Edition" is based on):

If you want more articulation and diecast then get the Super Robot Chogokin one. That line is awesome and the figure looks amazing! All the SRC Sentai figures have been fantastic. Heck, they got me into Super Sentai!

I had not thought of it like the Masterpiece Voltron. Hmm. Might look good next to mine.

I am definitely picking up the Super Robot Chogokin version. I have a Super Robot Chogokin Dai Guard and I love it.
It is amazing there is no more info on this toy. I am begining to feel like how I felt when I first heard of the new Vehicle Voltron and then the silence came.

Bandai of America isn't the best at communication. I doubt we'll hear anything until this is a lot closer to release.
My money's on TRU exclusive.

Well, this thing was almost missed at SDCC. If you were not looking, or did not know it was there, you would have missed it. Heck, it took me 3 days to find it. LOL

Here's hoping we get more information at the Singapore Toy Game and Comic Convention (STGCC) www.singaporetgcc.com/It is said Bandai Asia is showing the complete Thundercats line up there so lets hope they also show some Power Ranger love by giving us more details on the Dino MegaZord Collector's Edition.

I hope there will be a diecast DragonZord and Tintanus too to come with this one!
When Bandai made the 2010 MegaZord and Mix & Morph Titanus, why didn't they release a 2010/2011/2012 DragonZord as well to complete the set?

This new megazord where is base of came out when Disney(?) was transmitting the original MMPR, however the show itself was never successful because they edit to much and make it look stupid (with the all bullcrap of colorful letters for sound effect and hide the "violence of the show"). during the time the show was aired and decaying, they announce the mix and morph titanus but bandai of america had no plans of making dragonzord even though they made the green ranger(ridiculous). after that the show got cancel(what a surprise) and the dragonzord to go with the megazord 2010 never saw the light of day.
That mix & morph Titanus was and is horrendous, bandai america overkill it by making it a bit way to small than the megazord and a gimmick that has no sense whatsoever and has no purpose. your better off making the mix of parts manually as oppose using the titanus gimmick because of the danger of breakage of the mechanic.
however i will admit it had the better stickers design than the stupid bolt thing.
