It's a silly gimmick, yeah...for young children to enjoy, IMO. So, with the 20th MMPR anniversary knocking the doors, don't you think Bandai should do the DragonZord? I am sure they read and know that people are demanding it everywhere on the internet! Any idea what would be the price of that diecast Dino MegaZord?

I can't believe there are still no updates from Bandai on this Maybe they have too many "irons in the fire" right now and will make more announcements after Mazinger Z DX is released. I hope I am wrong because I would also love hear more info on this Dino MegaZord toy soon. The lack of info "could" be a blessing in disguise. Hopefully they are giving the original mold an extensive overhaul and are adding more details and articulation to cater to the collectors' market. If any toy company knows what big kids want it's Bandai

But this is being released by Bandai America. Tamashi Nations Bluefin is handling the Mazinger DX. I mean, at SDCC they were nowhere near each other. Heck, I almost missed the Bandai America booth. Walked by it 4 times

Has B. of A. ever come out with any quality collector's toys before? From what I have seen they seam to cater to the kid mass market audience hence the strange design choices made is some of their past toys

The pictures posted a few months ago all say "Coming 2013". I haven't heard any other news or announcements about it yet.

From what I have seen they seam to cater to the kid mass market audience hence the strange design choices made is some of their past toys They've been trying over the last handful of years. They made some nice-ish extremely shortpacked figures of the Green, White (MMPR) and Gold (Zeo) Rangers and Lord Zedd some years ago that were good efforts hampered by iffy paint (few apps and poor QC, at least on mine). They also brought over some of BoJ's Figuarts during Samurai as TRU exclusives. Between this megazord, the upcoming MMPR morpher, and the upcoming import version of Shinken-Oh, it seems to be like BoA is really trying to cater to the collector's market. I think they're just still trying to figure out how to do that.

Well, Bandai of America can release them all the want. However, unless they have some gokin in them I doubt I will be interested. That is why I want this one!

They should have designed a brand new one for the SOC line then just import it over then take a updated toy of a 20+ year old toy and just add some metal pieces and mettalic paint. Its a decent toy but Bandai can do WAY better this thing can't even bend its elbows and its still popular enough to sell in both markets. It would have given a lot of fans with no experience of the SOC line a taste of what this line is about.

Well, it is the same as what I saw at SDCC. Hard to tell what is Diecast, etc, from that. I will still get it. I do agree with others though. They really are missing the opportunity to make this Legacy Megazord basically the Masterpiece Megazord. Can you imagine that? Same kind of badassary as Voltron?

This is Bandai America we are talking about. Sure they bring some products from Japan to cater to collectors, but they are usually a cheap american division that gives us cheap, retooled toys. So I do not expect a master piece from them...
Now if you are into retro toys and like metal, then you have a nice Godaikin being offered.

Oh I plan to get him. For the cost. Not missing it. I know very little about Bandai America other than they produced some badass Big O and Big Duo figures as well as the only Escaflowne figure I own.
Hope this is available for preorder soon

Don't get me wrong, I am also planning to pre-order it among the Japanese DX Samurai Megazord as soon as the pre-order becomes available here in the US.
I just do not expect a SOC, but rather a classic Godaikin style (blocky, little articulation with metal). In the early 90's Bandai America released some nice Power Rangers jumbos like the Red Ranger and the main Megazord from Lost Galaxy, which I heard were pretty good. But now a days, cheap toys...

What does the DX in Japanese DX Samurai Megazord stand for? what is different about it from the version you can get in US stores now? Been wondering actually.

www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=17880096TRU often has B1G1 40/50% off sales on PR toys (a sale ended just yesterday actually), so you may want to wait for that. The major difference in the Japanese release (aside from relatively more minor differences like better paint apps and including the shield) is that the Japanese release can transform into the individual emblem modes, which is part of the show. The third pic in the TRU link shows what they look like.
