That would be awesome, but having dealt with the USPS insurance claims before, I'm not going to believe they will do anything until I see it. They are quick to take your money, but it is a battle to get them to pay up. }|

I did have luck one time.....I sold a box of dishes...I put bubble wrap around each piece, then filled the box with peanuts.....when the lady got the box........every single plate and cup was smashed....I guess I shouldnt have wrote fragile on the box !!!!!!well she files the claim, and got paid...thank God, because I could pay her back the 300.00 she paid....but I insured them for 500.00 and she got all of it.....but thats the only time I had luck...well she had luck !!!

I think a good way to avoid damage in transit would be to sell them as "put together yourself" kits. You could make all the custom parts, paint them, make assembly instructions and send the kit to the customer ready to be put together. That way there are less chances of it getting trashed in transit. I for one would be up for that. }D

Thats a great idea...they buyers would just need to remember that they are CUSTOM kits...and like most custom models, the buyer will need to sand and adjust some parts...I can always give tips for a better finish....like using spackle on the seams, and using semi glossor flat paints instead of high gloss...because gloss looks fake....Did you ever see a house that has high gloss siding ? or stones faced house with shiny rocks ?? No, but I seen lots of models, where people used a high gloss finish..... But as far as pre-cutting, and adding directions? Heck I could sell one of those for 100.00.... that would be the basics...trees would need to be extra, concidering they sell for 25.00 for 4 tree's on average... shipping would be a LOT safer...LOL and cheaper too I guess the tools needed would be 1 pack of sandpaper 50, 80 and 100 grit... bradnail gun ( my staple gun shoots both/ nails and staples ) wood glue, hot glue gun..clamps , and a good utility knife. Thats the main tools...... Let me figure out material cost, on a few different projects...and see if anyone is interested ?

Yeah, and you can even make them in different scales and sizes at the buyer's request. }D

Well droutmaster, I can build in any scale !!!! I even built a mini one for my son...it's about 8" x 8" and 9" tall......his even lights up !!! I could sell one that size for about 30.00..or so...less if you want to build it yourself, I can just send all the pre-cut parts !!!!

I can sell a basic Photon Lab kit for 150.00 thats all the wood pre cut, and the fencing cut close to size, and the light kit....and directions of course !!!! I can change the price for more or less work....the windows in the rear of the lab, will need to be different, the heavy paper I cut for yours..took 2 hours for each level..but I have a stencil that can be used to paint black windows I will sell , or for more money I might even cut out all the windows...again..it all comes down to cost !!!!

I was thinking that, if the buyer didnt want to put on the damaged parts...I can make the sides in one piece..that way there is no seams at the top ? Or if someone has limited room, Thye lab can be cut in half, you wont see the back section, but you would still have the front and the 7's...and it could still light up ? Then it would be even cheaper, and lighter ??

Nice but I suggest coloring that water just solid blue without any white, it will look a lot better that way. or you can even paint it in light grey and just put a piece of blue paper on top that you can remove when Mazinger is on it.

LOL that was the Maz's idea...I tried to copy how it looked on the anime, but when it was done, the maz, wanted it solid blue...the problem that makes it hard, is...The blue is painted on 1 piece of wood, and the pool is another...then glued and nailed together....try painting the blue, on the poolside with the dividers.....I would have liked to have it all built on a large base, so the pool could be cut out, and have the elevator in it, like the other lab on here has !!!!!! but who wants to pay 700.00 just to ship it !!!!! And Maz, it's looking great...sorry you had to go through all the headaches !!!!
