So what is the DVD that is being advertised in the lower left corner of the picture? Toei released the series on DVD last year so it's probably just a promo tie-in.

Tried blowing up the pic so we can get a closer look till more pics surface. Looking at the blueprints it seems you have to take the forearms off to transform Danguard. I also see a lot of SRC influences in the design, I'm guessing since the SRC is now the defacto "standard" SOC then I'm thinking that the large more complex SOC's will be scaled more to the SRC size when the old line was scaled more towards the old "standard" SOC. Daioja could have been the last of the truly large SOC's before the shift in marketing strategy.

I guess most of us SOC collectors can guess how much its gonna cost judging by the size and if its a combiner, or a transformation robot. My guess, it will be in between 170-220usd BEFORE shipping

I wouldn't be surprised to see this go for around $150-200 maybe even more who knows? It really depends on the size and market at the time but I'm guessing at least 18,000YEN.

Interesting thought Chen,.
Wasn't the GX-44 and GX-45 sort of the unveiling of the new standard of articulation? Since then all non-combiners have had that level of articulation right? I am pretty excited about a non-super complicated but well engineered figure.
What do you mean by scaled to the SRC size? Wouldn't it be SOC scale if it was about 9-10 inches?

i think it is small enough to sell for less than $150 no problem.

Depending on scale and metal content, I'm betting 15000 yen. These days I think having a less expensive figure actually ends up making bigger profits.
I think the proportions look good. The face might look small, but the helmet is big, so you have to find the right balance of the two. My first impression is that it works fairly well.

True the standard SOC from GX-45 and on used the same basic joint system which was then refined even more for the SRC line. But what I meant by SRC influences was things like the hip joint that has the same plate look as used on the Mazingers along with some of the joint system look more SRC then SOC which is understandable since tech flows from one line to another. As for scaling to the SRC line I meant that for the most part the big SOC's have been quite large compared to the standard SOC. You could display both together and it looked good. But this Danguard looks to be much smaller then say Godsigma or Daioja. A general shift to downsizing and with the statement that the SRC line is now considered the replacement for the standard SOC then you can also assume that the large combiners and transformers will also be downsized. Besides Danguard is "suppose" to be one of the largest SR ever.

To me, and just by looking at the Stage Act-5 stand where it displayed on, it looks like the Danguard Ace will be closer to 8 inches than 9 or 10. It also seems to have SRC style articulaton. }D

You guys think more Yamato Danguards will pop back up on eBay and be resold now that GX-62 is coming? What do you think the price point of the Yamato version will be? Still hold the same prices or come down a bit?

Still hold the same prices or come down a bit? It will come down a bit right at first, then depending on whether the SOC version is better or not will decide whether the Yamato comes down a lot or possibly even go up a bit if it turns out to be the substantially better of the two. Of course the Hong Sellers will be oblivious to all of this.

I don't think it'll drop in price much but you will probably see more of them for sale. Its not a case where this is a version 2 from the same company its a different toy from a different company so there will be fans of Yamato that won't sell no matter how good the SOC version is just like if it turns out to be a turd its still a SOC and that alone in a lot of cases is enough to carry it and make it hot. Or like me ill just have both versions and like each for different reasons.
