Anyone picked up the Fewture God Phoenix? I was supposed to get one, but decided to pass on it once I held the actual item in hand. The box felt super light so I decided to let it go. I'm wondering if it was the right thing to do.

Yup, i bought the God Phoenix. But its not really bang for buck considering its size. Only recommended to big fans of gatchaman like myself ;D

Yes I am hoping this gatchaspartan is worth the $. So far it looks pretty decent, especially due to the size alone.

I don't understand the interest in the Gatchaspartan. Personally, I think its a horrendously boring and uninspired design. Plus, it seems that the show is impossible to find now, so unless you saw the original (which is unlikely), then what is the draw? Perhaps someone can elighten me. The box art is cool on the original, but that's about the only draw that I can see. Just because its rare and expensive does not mean that I see its appeal.

The (New) God Phoenix measures approx 6 inches in length, and all the vehicles cant even fit into their respective compartments with the doors closed. But what fewture offers, is an accurate redention of the anime version. I managed to catch gatchamen 2 (new god phoenix) and gatchaman 3 (gatchspartan) when i was a kid, so its purely a nostalgic experience for me when i purchase the 2. And yeah, as a kid, i adore the god phoenix and was devastated when it was destroyed in season 3, it was replaced by the gatchaspartan which i hated. I also managed to get my hands on some of the vintage vehicles, costs a bomb! pretty good quality with lotsa die-cast, but so far, no luck in acquiring swan (ie the lady with the motorcycle).

It is hiddeous indeed, and EXPENSIVE!!!!

New godphoenix is 12 inches long. It does lack some features that a toy this expensive should have but is nice. Also it looks like new godphoenix has come down a bit in price. I was just jumping around searches and saw prices from 230-260, maybe you can find it cheaper. As for our current focus, they are saying the gatchaspartan looks to be at most 18 inches long when fully assembled. And you're not alone lol. I have no modern diecast but this is potentially going to be my first purchase of that type an item!

yes, its the new godphoenix, and you are right, its not 6" long, my mistake. its probably closer to 9 or 10". not very big. It is just barely over 12" (30.5cm). Someone checked the length for me when I asked them to tell me how long the gatchaspartan looked. So a little bigger than you thought, but that's a good thing! More toy! As I said before though I just really hope the gatchaspartan comes with little figures or gimmicks. I don't see any gimmicks at all in the photos coming out. I also hope they don't do their usual plain background box with the toy image. I'd love a pseudo popy-esque vintage style box and inner overlay with insane colors.

Oh wow! Gatchaspartan!! I'm so stoked by this!
Granted, it 1) has awful unmatched colors 2) the vehicles don't look much 3) the combined is one big door wedge
But I still want it!
This is definitely nostalgia for me. I remember watching it as a kid and getting all excited when it combines into the big flaming ship. I even forgave the dumb fact that Ken would stand on the tip of the plane going at 1000mph, with his sword drawn...
Really happy it's coming out, cos as a kid, I could not afford the expensive toy. Now I can finally own ..... what? ........how much? ...........29800Y ?!!!! AAaaarghhhh!!!!! NOT AGAIN!!!!!

Just collected my gatchaspartan today. its a big and heavy toy, the whole box must have weight 3kg at least! some pictures to share. Outer sleeve. Unlike fewture getters, no individual shipper box. Inner box Styrofoam tray layout, very well pack. Individual vehicles Each vehicle comes with their own wheels, however, they are mostly made of flimsy plastic, instead of die-cast seen in the vintage version Fully assembled Mounted on stand. Base of stand is made of plastic and the entire holder is die-cast.

Sh*t, this actually came out? I still didn't order mine. What do you think of it? Is there a ton of diecast? And is it 14" long like we thought? Any issues?

yes, lotsa diecast, (I did not inspect all the individual parts) but the tell tale sign is the sheer weight of the combined gatchaspartan. Combining it the first time can be tricky, getting the little catches to fit into the right grooves is a real pain initially. but once you get the hang of it, its fine. one major thing to note is 2 little antennas mounted on each side of G4 vehicle. they are look EXTREMELY fragile and you have to be extremely careful when handling the vehicle or combining it. The entire length of gatchaspartan is 30cm. The gatchaspartan can be displayed either on stand (preferred), or without it, but you have to fully assemble it in order for it to balance nicely, otherwise it will be loose and tend to tilt. Overall, I love it! best replica of the gatchaspartan till date
