By the way, what Mazinger Z would be a perfect scale match? Will the SOC GX-01R do?

Pre-ordered! I've been regretting the day I sold my metallic and TV version Daishoguns that I was honestly thinking about paying those insanely inflated prices on Ebay for one.

Pre-ordered... even I have the old version, it is such a cool gokin. I can't resist this!

By the way, what Mazinger Z would be a perfect scale match? Will the SOC GX-01R do? If you want anime-accuracy, you'd need a gashapon. A very small one.

^This!
General Dark is so oversized in the Anime, it's literally David vs Goliath.

So how many versions are there, and which one is the most TV show accurate when it comes to coloring?

Pre-ordered and pre-paid (not risking the value of Dollar versus Yen right now)! ;D
This is the 4th version released:
1. Original Mazinkaiser vs Ankoku Daishogun 2. Metallic paint version 3. Great Mazinger TV anime color version 4. Shin Mazinger version (this one - even thou it is not just a straight repaint)
I'm so happy Aoshima still lives!!! ;D

Thanks TMZ... I just dont like all these dark colors for this one...like if the inside of the cape was red then I would have got it in a heartbeat...I may just pass.

I know, but my suggestion is that if you can afford to, you should get it anyway now that it is selling at a discount. You know that it will go up in price eventually and if you change your mind, it will hurt in the wallet even more. }D

By the way, what Mazinger Z would be a perfect scale match? Will the SOC GX-01R do? Since this is the Shin Mazinger version, you have to figure that in order match the anime scale, the Shin Mazinger would be about the size of Ankoku Daishogun's forearm. So yes, a Gashapon figure of Shin Mazinger would be your best bet. }D

I'm really happy for bros who'll be able to pick this piece up. It's 85% diecast!! A big chunk of metal!. It hurts my manly wrist if I try to pick him up with one hand. The price is really more than fair IMHO. I just wish Aoshima would have address the skirt QC issue and also updated the cape little like how Takara and Bandai's doing. Still, a great piece. Just Be very careful with the skirt. I already broke three pieces on mine.
Welcome back Aoshima.

Hmmm... I have three of these Aoshima Ankoku Daishogun figures already, and none of them had any problems with their skirts breaking, or any other QC issues. You may have gotten a lemon bro. }D

Hi all,
krimpov, gold, chogokinabdul & tmz, many thanks for the data on MZ's size for Ankoku Daishogun.
This is a very tempting figure, but I still want the classic 70's anime colors.

TMZ, that's good to hear about the skirt , then I wish ONLY wish they improved the cape. Like make it out of lighter ABS with joints like newer MP Seekers and SRC Gunbuster cape. If that was the case I might of pick up one. Still, a great piece at GREAT price. 70's Just get one for yourself , you won't regret it. Don't expect SRC articulations, but it will give you diecast in ten folds.

If you don't have this figure I HIGHLY recommend you get it, it's not the most poseable but it is almost 10" tall of pure metal. Plus for only around $130 your not gonna find a figure this size with this much metal for this price.
