Relax, bro, he didn't mean anything personal
by the phrase "that's what she said".
Tongue-in-cheek humor, that's all. I use that line
on people at my job and where ever I go. lol ;D
It was just a friendly play of words in reply when you said
"different strokes for different folks".
It's all good. ;D

Now for my reply to this interesting topic.
For as long as I've been collecting robot toys
(which is almost as equally long as I've been
a member of RJ), I've never bought anything
on pre-order.
I like to read and see reviews about the item
before I decide whether or not I'll buy it.
When I read reviews, I look for the Pros and Cons
about the item. I read comments from RJers
who've already bought it and their reviews
about it.
Then I weigh my own speculation about the item
based on all the information I've gathered from
observing and researching about the item.
At the end of the day, I really wanna be sure that the
item is something I really want, and that I'll
be happy with the item when it arrives in my hands.
After acquiring the item, if I see it sold for less elsewhere;
yeah I'd probably kick my own azz about it wish I'd waited
just a little longer.
On the other hand, it probably wouldn't matter because
I had already spent my hard-earned money for the item;
and the item is my self-reward for my hard work.
After all, I'm not here to keep up with the Jones-es. lol
It's a good thing to watch your budget and plan ahead
during this hobby. New items turn up every other month
or so, and sometimes too many new items happen all
at one time it's hard deciding which one to get first
while which one to reserve on Pre-order.
And then of course, there are priorities outside
this hobby that are more important.
Sometimes ya gotta treat this hobby like a Now-Or-Later candy.
"
Eat some Now, save some for Later".
And then, sometimes, we tend to kick our own azz
obsessing about price differences so much that it
clouds the true enjoyment of this hobby.
Yes- DO Shop smart, and learn how to spend wisely.
But also, remember why you're in this hobby
in the first place.
Everyone has his or her own way of approaching this.
In the long run it's what you make of it that matters.
