At this point I feel fortunate that the majority of my personal list has been filled.
Thankfully there are only two figures left in the "crazy-expensive-OMG-rare" category that I still have any significant interest in adding to the collection.

I really wish I had filled in the gaps and got the last few I was after a few years back.In the past 5-6 years that I had stepped away prices have at least tripled, and with the current trend they seem to be soaring up to 5-6x as much.Doesn't leave me much hope on finishing up..May have to streamline... Amen to that. Wish I had started my collecting about 4 years ago instead of 2 years ago. Or just need to stay satisfied with Mattels and not look at the more rare popy versions. With 3d printers, we may become our own producers. One of my goals for this year is to work on a printed Voltes. Still trying out some different 3d software and making sense on making curved surfaces versus plain jane objects and adding fillets.

Not sure if I've already share this here, but one of the end of this insanity might be in a few year. Just because our generation will either have what they need or loss interest and new generations won't be interested in it and the demand will go down. I recently had an interesting report of a discussion between a very close friend and Jumbo collector with another robot (wider range) toy collector. The robot collector is actually collecting any kind of robot toys for a very very long time, one of the biggest part of his collection is Tin robot from the 60's and he was saying that those have really lost their value these past few years. Some that he bought for a fortune in the 90's doesn't really worth a lot today. One of the explanation for this might be that those toys were cherish and sought after by people who have them as kids and remember them really well. Those kids from the 60's were the adult of the 90's and able to get them for high prices and the demand was really high. Today's collectors in the 30/40 years old range didn't know them as kids and might really not interested in Tin Robots, so the demand is not really there anymore and price have go down.
This might happen to Jumbos in a few years because young people of today won't care and will spend a fortune on Dragon Ball or Pokemon toys or any other toys from the late 2000.

While it would be a shame to see values plummet considering what some have spent on certain rare pieces,I would love to acquire the missing pieces.

I wasn't sure if that Dangard sold for sure on ebay or not. Might have ended for reason of "item was sold" and not available any longer.

It shows as sold to bidder "Member Id: k***o ( 307)" for 8600.00 on the 18th.
Seller probably worked out a deal with the bidder and revised the auction to match their agreed upon price.

$880 for any color U5 Garada is crazy! This seller apparently believes that the craze in Popy Jumbos is affecting all other brands. What's next, a Gaiking Shogun Warrior with no box for $500, craziness!

So the same guy who paid $8,000+ for the Dangard just paid $880 for the U5 Garada. Note however with the Garada there were other bidders throwing numbers over $650 for it as well.

People are going insane. I have been watching a couple of shogun Gaikings on ebay. One sold for $79 with original hand and four repro rockets This price seemed reasonable to me The other with four original rockets. (two long fins) sold for $270 a day later. What the heck? How did the people bidding not see what others were going for? The cheaper one even looked to have better paint on the head. I don't get it.

That Dangard is back on for almost $9000 and the Garada came back as well the other day. The Garada came back at a MUCH cheaper "buy it now" price, so, I bought it! I have to say I'm guilty of over paying for a few pieces that I have, and I am willing to spend for the pieces I still want. I almost broke down and paid the $1800 for the Combattler V that is presently on ebay. But, that was before Derik told me about RJ and I seen about what the average was for them. As for the ebay pricing, I have been collecting jumbo's for about 2 years, honestly, I never knew that half the jumbos out there even existed! I come from the "backwoods" in Pa. where there is no collectors, clubs, forums, or anything like that. I never knew about yahoo japan, robot japan, collection dx, none of those, so I grabbed what I could when I could, on ebay. Now I find that I paid too much for a few, and I think that's what's happening. People are watching one particular jumbo and not seeing the others come up. Like me, newb's.... But I probably will still pay too much for my Combattler, Dangard, 17, poseidon, getter liger, and aphrodity. Tom
