Thank you Chen!!! I really wish Popy, Mattel, Hasbro, someone, would come out with more of the jumbo "bad guys". They make such awesome looking toys!!

I'm slowly gettin there, after watching episode 1 of the classic Combattler V anime I frigin love it already! It reminds me of the classic Yuusha Raideen series: similar styled storyline, similar styled enemy combatants, and even the five pilots learned how to operate their Combattler robot in just minutes towards the end of episode 1! lmao zozo-mag

I'm thinking of getting my first SOC. I've been looking really hard at the Combattler V GX3. Any thoughts? Mostly a jumbo collector but I do have a bunch of die casts. I'm just really curious about them, I've never even seen one. Tom Looks like you make some awesome choices. Congrats! I was always a Voltron collector and started SOCs last year. My Fav is the GX-59 Daltanious. Very robust and articulate.

It's a sad state of affairs when the web exclusive Namabara base is cheaper in the aftermarket than the GX-50 is... One of the reasons why I'm going to get a GX-03, not a GX-50. They're almost the same figure, after all... Bandai should make more robot bases by the way. It used to make tons of them in the "golden era", popy bases, both ST and DX, were everywhere, you had one for every freaking robot show. And now that they have the chance to remodel them by today's standards, nope, better play safe and just... let's see, let's just make Mazinger's hangar and Combattler Nambara base. And nothing else.

But quickly checking amazon/ebay you realize the huge gap between prices for the two. GX-50 is sooo expensive these days that, even with those lil' improvements, it's not worth it. It's not worth hundreds of dollars more. GX-03 is just fine. The Stage Act is just meh. Super Robots don't need that, because every single robot has a different base, a different "home". Sorry for the OT

Finally got a cheap regular-color GX-03 from AE awhile ago. Box has a slight ding, but the figure is still all good and tight. Still slightly prefer my Black edition, but it's all good...

Black Combattler was an odd entry in the line. But I've seen weirder SoCs, hehe.
Yeah, GX-03 is the way to go. Way cheaper than the GX-50, and with more anime accurate colours.

I never bought GX-03 cuz I bought GX-50 and teh base to put the vehicles in,I then bought ANOTHER gX-50 to display as the robot.I found someone willing to sell me the ship cutters from GX-03,the only parts GX-50 dont come with.I may get a GX-03 you can get them for under 100$ all day long now.

and dont forget bro the atomic burner in GX-50 its just a huge one piece in the GX-03 its two for both hands Heh, that's peanuts. I mean, that's not that important. A slight difference in accesories is not significant, specially if I'm going to display it without those atomic burners... I'll try to fetch one in the first months of 2015, along with a GX-04S. Gotta get some rubber protectant too. It's been a few years since they were released...

i remember that the GX-04S got reissued but i dont remember when Mhm apparently it was reissued around 2005. Here's a blog post by our forum member Gold on Toyboxdx, comparing the old version with the reissued GX-04S: toyboxdx.com/phorum/read.php?1,131310,131362 Seems like the reissued version had some improvements. Good to know. I'll try to get that one then. I'll have to be careful, I doubt it's gonna be specified most of the times...

Quite as late as 2010-2011, possibly even 2012. At least, I think since Bluefin started selling thru amazon. Maybe Charles (OptimusPrimeSG) would know more about the re-releases since he reviewed his version back in 2010.
