Hi All,
I am Jason over in the UK. Big fan of 1/18th scale and so Mecha I tend to collect is 1/18th scale or that fits the bill I tend to get.
Have a huge love for Ghost in the Shell, Appleseed, Macross, Mospeada, Votoms and as said Microman.
I enjoy customising and scratch building at 1/18th scale and occasionally 1/6th scale. Also do some 1/1 prop building too.

Nice to meet you all! Nice to meet you as well. Best advice I can give you is only buy what you can afford. Within that, only buy what you like or might want. If a toy doesn't meet your expectations, the best thing to do is sell it as quick as you can and then you can use the $ for something else or put it back in savings. Stay focused and have a reasonable goal. No one can be a completist anymore unless they are dealing with certain vintage toy lines. Remember, you're in this hobby for your enjoyment, not to go crazy trying to keep up with things you don't really want in the first place.

As for revoltech i started with Macross figures, they are good and quite affordable, but they have so many cool ones that it spread, and now i pick up figures of anime or games that i love and i can find at good prices. I forgot to add, i also collect some Play arts final fantasy figures, some banpresto dragonball figures that are quite cheap, bandai saint seiya myth cloth ex, some mcfarlane halo and assasins creed and kotobukiya star wars. So cutting it short, my collection is not aimed as sole brand or line, but as a collecion of pieces that i like from games or anime.

Hi, and Welcome to RJ! Mr. Ginrai nailed it right on point. Collect for Enjoyment and what you can afford. In this hobby we don't "keep up with the Joneses"... but at least we have better toys than they do! zozo-mag

Hi All.
Newbie here and I just started collecting SoC last Feb 2015. Huge fan of Super Robots and I also collect Masterpiece TF's.
My first Soc was the 40th anniv Voltes V and my latest acquisition was a GX-04s Grendy and eyeing on a Danguard Ace.
Hope my collection grows (and hoping I would have extra money to achieve that goal).

Hello everyone, I am a French collector from the Basque Coast. Everything started one year ago when I bougth the Grendizer I'd got when I was young, then I looked on other Anime such as Ulysses or Captain Future, then It was Popy Stuf of course, and now, now, It is Godaikin.... Well, in fact, I try now, to find the toys I was dreaming when I was young....

Hello everyone! I too am a SOC newbie and am just now researching which ones appeal to me and the like. I hope to start collecting real soon! Thank you, Gamefan Welcome to the RJ forums, Gamefan! Feel free to ask anything you need to know pal, the starting moments of anyone's robot collecting are always the most uncertain and irregular (they were for me, at least). So yeah, stick around the boards and ask away the more, the merrier! Also, a big welcome to cryotech, to roboholic and to darklens!

Hello everyone! I too am a SOC newbie and am just now researching which ones appeal to me and the like. I hope to start collecting real soon! Thank you, Gamefan Exactly the right start. Buy the ones you like. Once you get it, if it's not what you thought it would be, sell it and put the $ back towards something else. Buying what you enjoy and not getting sucked in by the hype from things you really don't want is the key to having fun in this hobby. Welcome to everyone who joined recently.

Hi all. New to the boards. My main collecting interest is comic books. However, I collect other toys from the 70s-80s such as Mego WGSH, Rubber Uglies(and other figures), Star Wars figures, cereal boxes, and other items. Hope to get some good info from this site.
