Chachipower's YouTube (RocketPunch army) introduced me to a voltron/golion lionbot that I had to have.
I've been looking for this toy since i started collecting as a "adult". I've only came across a few and none were ever complete or in good condition.
I recently sent money to an Italian seller who said he one in a box in good condition. I knew it was a bit of a risk sending money overseas and dealing with the Italian postal service.
The good news is he sent something and didn't steal my $. A package arrived today.
Ill be sure to post a few pics when open tonight.

That's awesome that you tracked one down. Ed(Admin1)did a vid a while back showing it in scale to other diecasts on his shelf:
There was another vid Ed did featuring that mid-size, but I can't find it now. Chachi's vids were great.

I think chachipower notes it in his video, if not, it was someone else. You need to be very careful if you even consider deciding to combine this toy. Just letting you know ahead of time.
Very glad to see you got one finally. I know I told you it would be a while and possibly a long search for one. Hope it has worked out well.

I took some pics last night and will post when I get to my desktop. Overall he's in nice condition. He is missing a foot on the green lion... Box shows age and wear.
I'm not going to combine him or handle him too much.
Its a crazy feeling. I've looked for this guy for so long, the search became a part of me. I'm thrilled to have this guy, don't get me wrong. But it feels more like a relief then anything else. Collecting is a funny thing. I guess I need to find another toy I can afford but can't find and try to track down. The hunt can be as fun as the feast.

I've never seen a Voltron or Golion version of this either. Only the Lionbot version. They pop up every once in a great while, and yes they usually only come from Europe or Asia. I've never seen one from a U.S. seller.

The specualtion is that Popy had developed this mid-size Golion toy to the point of production, similar to how they made thres sizes of Dairugger, but did not for what ever reason actually produce it. And then the Taiwan producers got a hold of the molds and did put it out.
There is also an alternate box version that says "Timebot" on it rather than Lionbot.

I've heard this before, that there is another box with timebot, but I always thought the timebot was a different variant.

They do make the little Golion watch transforming watch set and sell it as Timebot. There is even one of those 5 inch Trans-Jet mazingers they sell as Lionbot and Timebot. I guess once they find a name they like, they stick with it whether it makes sense or not. Here is the Midsize Lionbot packaged as Timebot, it is the real deal.

Cool pic of the Timebot version. I didn't realize it has a totally different styro foam tray layout from the mid Lionbot.

Cool but Weird. I wonder why Diecast Metal Taiwan titled the mini one this way, when they made the Lionbot and Golion?

just be extra careful when transforming black lion's head. The plastic is extremely brittle andf the 2 hinges would break almost instantly. But it's cool! I believe I know where to get another one if any of you guys is interested, but can't promise for the moment.

I've never had the mini Lionbot up close, but I'm not sure about the motorized LJN bots. The feet might not attatch the same way. I have a yellow lion I could post a pic of from that set but I don't have any of the arm limbs.

My LJN in storage. Still haven't got to set up my display in new place. I was also thinking the plastic trendmaster but doubt it would look good.
I'm curious about the LJN foot now. I'd love to see a pic if you can Ginrai
Chachi, now I just need to track down a mid size metal dariugger.
