Well, that sucked. Hopefully, like the last few Metal Builds, places like Amazon will carry it.

Yeah, AmiAmi sold out in seconds. I was lucky to secure my pre-order at Nippon-Yasan.

A local retailer use to tell me bandai is deliberately controlling production, creating a false sense of high demand. Common problem among Macross Chogokin DX Valkyries as well. I know that we have an official distributor that sells Tamashii stuffs in Indonesia. I'm wondering is this just a way for Bandai to prevent customers from different regions to buy straight from Japan, and forcing them to buy from their local distributors instead?

Hmmm, I guess for Legos, yes, they have such a policy in place, but probably not so much for Bandai. Despite what its name suggest, Tamashii limited stuff are still easy to get, both from local retailers and Japanese online retailers, its the non-exclusive items that is the problem. Its not like demand is not there, and there's money to be made, so it really puzzles me why Bandai is doing it.

These days Tamashii web limited items are easy to get. All made to order and no need for any mad rush to pre-order. There are quite a few online websites that anyone can pre-order with ease.
Normal items on the other hand, are the new difficult items to pre-order. But it only applies to Macross DX Chogokin and now it seems Metal build as well.
The retailers in my country can't promise even 1 piece of the new metal build as they expect extreme stock cut for this. So even if i pre-order at the shop, it does not guarantee me a piece.
The retailers and distributors outside Japan are at the mercy of the Japanese Bandai head office. It's Japan that gives the final say how the allocation goes. And usually the bulk will go to Japan and Hong Kong which are the biggest and most important markets.

im passing on this. happy for those whos getting it, but if you miss it for one reason or another, dont fret. wait for the inevitable and much better red frame or blue frame.
i just dont see the appeal for this character. The design is way WAY too busy.......not to mention its guady and loud. if i squint my eyes, it looks like really badly crinkled black and gold paper with arms and legs. i need my eyes to rest on, but there none....the surfaces are super overdone.

Yup, just placed my preorder. I didn't think the Metal Builds are as scary to procure as the DX Chogokin Macross toys. Hopefully the Advance Valkyrie will become more available once it its released...

I'm holding out hope that Bandai can move to make some of the villain mechs. How about a Metal Build Sazabi? Tallgeese? Kampfer? Wishful thinking, I'm sure...but, one can dream.

Cool...this is nice because if both BBTS and TS are carrying it, likely Amazon will as well...I'll hold onto my PO with BBTS and keep my eyes peeled for the preorder on Amazon.

Will BBTS blacklist customers who cancels their POs? The last time i tried cancelling from NY, they stopped me and warn me that should i go ahead, they will cancel my remaining POs.

Mmmm, don't think so. Mind you, I do buy quite a bit of stuff from them throughout the year and have Piles-of-Loot going almost all the time. So, I've recently cancelled the SRC Mazinkaiser SKL and Metal Build Norn with zero issues because Amazon.ca started carrying them and I could take advantage of the CAD and free shipping. But, yeah...no issues for me.

No, BBTS does not blacklist customers for canceling pre-orders.
