that has to be the best proportionate GaiGar ever, it doesn't look blocky or fat.

Those panel lines on bomber are gorgeous. The hips axis can be lowered : respect of the standing pose proportions AND action poses.

When I joined this board I had never heard of GaoGaiGar. Then, the combination of the SRC and everyone on this forum, had me watch it.
Now I am more excited about this release than I probably am of any other release in the past few years. The only thing that could get me more excited would be a SOC Gurren Lagann or maybe Escaflowne!
Seriously. This thing looks amazing. Wow. Just wow.

So is this the closest to anime accurate GGG released toy as of yet?

I finished watching this show some weeks ago, and I must say: I'm getting excited. Gaigar looks spot on, but it's better to not join the hype train. I still need to see what the metal content will be, the paint finish, articulations, size, stability, gimmicks (I strongly hope it comes with the Dividing Driver AT LEAST). Yes, it will take some months before we get to see reviews of this guy. More time to save money for it

...and can it do the OTHER combinations?

...and can it do the OTHER combinations? You mean S.D. GaiGar? No news on that yet. UH, I totally forgot to bring that up! Thanks Tetsuryu. S.D. GaiGar is almost as cool as GaoGaiGar itself, even cooler in some aspects (drill fists ) It wouldn't be too difficult to do, in my opinion: the easiest thing would be making DrillGao being able to attach both to GaiGar's feet and hands. But StealthGao would be a whole different story... Because in GaiGar's form, StealthGao attaches to the back, but when performing Final Fusion it attaches to GaiGar's arms, right?

Because in GaiGar's form, StealthGao attaches to the back, but when performing Final Fusion it attaches to GaiGar's arms, right? There also the issue with weight. This is a SOC, which usually means a decent amount of diecast metal. Usually, diecast goes in the legs to enhance stability when doing more dynamic posing. So if there's diecast in DrillGao, GaiGar won't have a chance in hell of supporting the weight, nevermind the arms. As for StealthGao, maybe they could cheat it by have some slide-open panels to expose holes and pegs to stick into GaiGar for the SD mode. Honestly it wouldn't surprise me if SD GaiGar was something that the engineers never bothered to implement. It was only ever used a couple of times in the show and seems like it would only cause stability problems for the other forms. Mhm you're probably right. Besides, SD form only shows up 2 or 3 times in the anime. Even the Eraser Head is something more iconic. Oh well, I'm satisfied enough with GaiGar being able to turn into Galeon: if Bandai manages to pull that off flawlessly, I'm sold

I don't see why not - the CM's version could do it, and the later versions of that had big chunky diecast drillgao feet.

And, just because it is an SOC does not mean it will be loaded with diecast. }D

Diecast can also be a HUGE negative indeed, while diecast is nice and all it sometime will make the figure to heavy and sometime unstable if not done correctly and not only that but as well increasing the price of the figure quite ridicules prices. i prefer to have diecast in the most appropriates spots like the joints or lower legs for stability as having it in the entire figure like 95% of it and they ending up having a heavy figure with rattling parts( it always scare me the sound of it, makes me think something is gonna fall or not fully secure).

What ! No ! A soul of chogokin should have at least a satisfying amount of die cast ! Otherwise just call it something else!

Well, the CM's is almost all diecast, so the SOC could be as well. But don't expect it to be a huge figure by itself thou... }D

Considering Bandai already sold Zambo Ace with extra parts for Zambot and that was nothing more than a recolour, they could just throw in a white repaint of Galeon with Stealth Gao II... ...because I seriously hate that web exclusive crap

Damn now Im depressed I feel like Im missing out on something BIG.Im not into this series,as most of you know I only collect 72-84' with spinoffs. But I guess I could make an exception and get this guy?! I don't know the reason why you only collect robot toys from shows that only aired between 1972 and 1984, but during the 90's, unless you enjoyed some early days' CGI nonsense... or Neon Genesis Evangelion, the Brave Series was the way to go if you were a super robot fan. Sunrise did it once again, and it just kept getting better and better until 1997, when it culminated with the apex, the non plus ultra: the King of Braves, GaoGaiGar. I watched the anime only recently, and I can safely assume it's one of the best SR shows I've seen. The transformation/combination sequences, the fights getting increasingly greater in scope, they nailed everything, the whole thing is just a joy to watch. Of course it's not perfect, I'd nitpick over 2 or 3 things, but overall it's very very good. So of course I'm excited about this SOC release. If they do things right, this could end up being a monster of an entry in the line, an over-9-inches combiner which can turn into a giant lion? I'm sold. Also, they may end up releasing the Goldion Hammer as well, which would just add to the awesomeness. Think of it as the super-sized tomahawk Shin Getter 1 uses, but even more imposing If you don't want to watch the show it's fine. I won't get it as soon as pre-orders start, I want to make sure Bandai does a great job with it. Mainly stability and anime accuracy-wise. Until then, I'll just keep on saving money for it
