the confusion between threea and threezero is understandable.
a bit of a primer for clarification (although i may be incorrect in some aspects):
threezero is a company founded by toy designer kim fung wong (i think threezero was/is his 'alias'). threea was co-founded by kim and ashley wood - ash being the main designer and kim sort of being more in charge of the business side (afaik). threezero + ashley wood = threea
i'm pretty sure threezero have released toys before - mostly 1/6 figs and/or accessory packs. now, they seem to be concentrating more on licensed properties, with full metal ghost, zoids shield liger and walking dead figs being the first releases.
3a is more ashley woods' "baby" - primarily producing toys of his art/design (various characters and 'universes'). these designs can be traced from his paintings, sketches, illustrations, comic books, etc.; although now, i think the influence goes both ways between his toys and art. 3a have also produced licensed properties (real steel, halo, 2000ad, etc.) and are continuing to do so. there is an iron man fig due soon under his marvel x 3a 'collaboration'.
to further compound the confusion re: mazinger - ashley wood has stated before that he was going to design his own mazinger. because of this, it was thought that maz would be released under 3a. this announcement from threezero clearly indicates otherwise, but it's safe to assume that ash has had a hand in designing this for threezero (as he and kim appear to be good friends on top of being business partners).but i could be wrong.
i do not believe that there will be any diecast parts in maz, but that remains to be seen. i think threezero have stated that there isn't any in the liger; i am unsure if there is any in the full metal ghost. from the second teaser pic, the fingers appear to be articulated. this is one of the most distinguishing features of 3a bots, and would have likely been an influence.

I know Ashley Wood once said that threeA and threeZero were "very different companies" - from a Q&A bit on threeA's blog, I think - but with the same man in charge of running both businesses and the fact that threeZero's next projects (namely their Zoids) have an obvious threeA style to them. I wouldn't be surprised if threeZero's figures were also made in the "Hatchery", the factory threeA figures come from.
So even though they're different entities on paper, comparisons are to be expected and, given what we've seen so far, it's not too far-fetched to make suppositions on the quality and craftsmanship of threeZero's upcoming products based on threeA's track records.

...am I the only one kinda hoping this gets released in Machinder Colors? or Boss Borot Colors?
....I still want some version of a Bossinger B
Anyway, I'm digging the design from the drawings...it looks Modernized without looking creepy. it looks like an Industrial Grade Mazinger.
....Though I have to wonder...will we get a Jet Scrander at some point...and maybe a sharper Breast Fire.

So far I like the design. One thing though, the sword... it doesn't fit with this Super Industrial style Mazinger Z. They should either remove the sword, or needs to modernize a 'weapon' for him.

Neither the sword or the hover pilder fit the steam punk design of the robot. can't say I like those handles on the shoulders either. They don't seem to serve any purpose there. All else looks good

the latest picture reminds me of an autobot Bayformers look like hundreds of random parts welded together. This Mazinger design is just too clean for them. I wish they did look like that, though. It would have been a perfect mix of the cartoon looks and the realistic take Bay was aiming for.

All else looks good I don't know what could be wrong with the hover pilder. I think it looks just fine. But Z with a sword? That's supposed to be Great's act.

Agree. Hate the handles on the shoulders and they look bad on the knees as well.

I didn't,t want to shake the boat but since the floodgate,s opened....
Yeah the handle is def a mistake IMO. I do like over all design but the handles are killing it. I hope this is early design and may be he could revise it.
Maybe for funI,m going to draw up my own z design based on go nagai samas z then based on three a or z design....

I kinda like the handles...it gives a point where the Crane arms can pick up the limbs without damaging the parts during assembly...

Those are not handles. Those are bull guards.

Well yeah, the reason I didn't mention anything about the knee handles is because I though they could pass somewhat as bull guards
But the design is pushing them way towards handles more than bull guards really. Still, passable.
The hover pilder, as nice looking as it is, has more of a modern technology look going on that just doesn't fit the retro steam punk desing of the robot. Therefore it looks out of place. Nice, but out of place.
