Wow. Nice. When you compare how much some exporters want for this ($199.99 at Play-Asia... pfff), it's a deal, yeah.
The NES version would cost me just a bit over CAD$90, all taxes in, if I could find one at retail. That Famicom Mini costs CAD$73 plus shipping.

Pretty neat. That's the Japanese version too.
Any guesses on what shipping to the states with EMS will come out to?

I got my invoice for the Famicom Mini from AmiAmi.
Shipping to Canada (Quebec) is 2,540yen (CAD28.73/USD21.54), for a grand total of 8,998yen (CAD101.76/USD76.29).
Other shipping methods :
Air Small Packet : 1,690 JPY SAL Small Packet (Registered) : 1,290 JPY SAL Small Packet (Unregistered) : 880 JPY SAL Parcel : 2,700 JPY DHL : 2,290 JPY
EMS shipping turned out to be more than expected. I based my estimate on Play-Asia's quote, but I think they're from Hong Kong. Still not bad. Here in Quebec, the NES Classic would cost me 91.29 at retail, if I found one. An extra $10 to import the Japanese version isn't bad. Thinking of changing it to Registered SAL; I'm not that much in a hurry to play it.

I choose SAL since I purchase it as my brother's gift!

what makes the mini famicom extra special is that it comes with 2 controllers just like the original, but it's a bit smaller.

www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?scode=GAME-0017100&page=rt_02Famicom Mini back in stock at AmiAmi (6,458 JPY) as I'm writing these words. It's not a limited product and seems to be distributed in larger quantities than the NES Classic over here. If they're sold out, they're likely to get new stock in the next days/weeks. By the way, the Famicom Mini does not come with an AC adapter, but you don't really need it since it uses a micro-USB cable (included) for power. Though most Japanese electric items will work fine without a converter in the US, it's still safer to use an American AC adapter. Just buy the official one if you want the "complete package" for your collection and use any American AC USB adapter to power the console.

Just keep watching. They might add more stock soon. Indeed, the games are Japanese, but since we're talking old 8bits games here, most of them are very much playable if you can't read the language. The list is slightly different from the US NES Classic. Each has its exclusives, missing from the other version. IMO, the NES Classic is the winner just for having Punch Out. I had written a longer post, but I think I'll just start a new thread in the Break Time section instead : robotjapan.proboards.com/thread/24525/classic-edition-plug-play-games?page=1&scrollTo=379859
