Shipping would have been pretty substantial on the DX Max I would imagine. Great price nonetheless.

If anyone is shipping from overseas, shipping has drastically increased in price, especially EMS which is usually a necessity for us. My two recent boxes cost me $140-160 total to ship EMS (about $300 of vintage goods) and they were all plastic model kits so they were not really heavy. It was a total of 15 items spread out between the two boxes.
I can only imagine what the DX Max would have cost. For what it is worth, I had thought about having one of the giant X-Plus Aura Battler Dunbine statues shipped from HLJ (this was months before the shipping rate increase) and I was getting quotes of $180usd minimum for that item alone.

No, the increase began just a couple of months ago. There was a notice posted on the japan post website, and many or the large retailers and middlemen also sent out notices or put information up on their websites about it.
Just make sure you are dealing with places that give a shipping quote prior to paying and expect at least a small increase over the prior rates.

This would apply everywhere as the rate increase was from japan post. Since shipping is paid by the buyer, it would affect us directly. The retailers and middlemen have no control over it.
Go to any place like HLJ, Mandarake, etc., basically any place that would utilize EMS through japan post and test quote a cart with a few light items in it (make sure they are small boxes) and then quote another cart with one or two large box and/or heavy items and that will help you get an idea.
