The WSC Terror Mirage was the first FSS resin kit I ever bought (and conveniently, the first I never finished). A neat design, but yeah, admittedly a bit plain. As long as it can do this pose from the manga, I don't think we'll have to worry about it being plain:

It looks like FSS plastic kits are only available from the Japanese store now. Unless there's another link somewhere?

Glad I could help. Which kits are you planning to buy? I'm considering a IMS "The Bang" aka Bang Doll. I know it'll cost a mother to ship it, but I almost don't care. ALMOST! That is of course unless my quest to get a CSM Kabuto Zecter doesn't pan out.

Here's a cheaper alternative, they may let you ship with SAL too: ekizo.mandarake.co.jp/shop/en/item_s-1223490.htmlAlso, you should know that since the Bang Doll was the first of Volk's IMS kits, it has a lot more issues than later releases like LED Mirage. It shouldn't be a problem for you though due to your experience.

Nice! When the hell did that get there? Must have just gotten stocked. I was browsing Mandarake just a couple days ago and they only had a V Siren. I wondered what the quality was like with that due to it being one of the first kits from the line. Suppose I'll need to baby it a little! Do you have The Bang? Wonder what kind of a mess I'm in for! Heh!

No, but I do have the Vatshu and Schpeltor. Vatshu was the 2nd in the line and a lot of the issues on it were shared with Bang Doll. In a nutshell: poor parts fitment (you'll need to widen the peg holes), rather bad seams, some bad nubs here and there near fine detail, orange peel all over the plastic, and rather bad joint engineering. On the plus side, a lot of detail, parts are all sharp unlike Bandai kits (and fragile as a result, but that goes without saying), and the proportions are fantastic.

Damn that does sound like some work. But what mech fan can resist that Nagano design!? I look forward to the challenge.

There are way too many to list, so this might help: myfigurecollection.net/search.php?character_strict=1&character_id=26447With that being said, the Wave 1/144 kits are decent but will need paint (The Chrome-plated one as well), heck all of the kits of this guy need paint. The old Volks GGI 1/100 kit is decent as well. Still, by "decent", I mean they aren't rubbish warped plastic. You'll still need cement and putty for them to make them look remotely decent, as well as paint as mentioned before. All the other alternatives are resin kits, which of course require even more work like pinning and are usually fix-posed. I'm hoping someday Volks releases a 1/100 plastic model of the KOG V3 based on their recent resin sculpt. They already did that with the LED Mirage, so it should be a matter of time.

Yes, the Nepune does look great, but it needs A LOT more paint than the other Volks FSS kits. Here's how it looks unpainted: As for the KOG, there are two pre-painted figures that were made, one really old one by Kaiyodo that is made of gummy PVC and impossible to find (not that it's really worth it), and a tiny 1/144 promotional display figure that goes for over $700 these days:

Volk's Hobby Round 12 happened last week, so they showed off some plastic kits that will be released next year: The aforementioned 1/100 Terror Mirage, will probably cost 8000 yen like the other 1/100 kits, doesn't look like it needs much in the way of paint and supposedly Volks says that it has "enhanced articulation" compared to their other FSS kits. It comes with two funnel-like objects can also somehow hold the bigass boomerangs without its arms sagging: What I'm really excited for though is this: 1/144 A-toll BS Swans, one of the more chunky and obscure grunt designs from the series, but will be much cheaper than the other 1/100 kits (5000 yen I think) and is fairly massive for a 1/144 scale kit at 17.5 cm (~7 in), around the same size as Bandai's MG 1/100 Wing Gundam kits, but bulkier. Here's what it will look like once the colors are finalized (Wave resin kit for reference):

I recommend you pick it up, and please try to review it if possible? Those are hard to find these days and there are no official online reviews to my knowledge. $25 is a great price, considering they tend to go over $50 these days.
Be warned though- they're not toys, just display pieces. They don't even have proper knee joints or articulation there, I think.
