I agree! That paint job just kills it's 1970's style! A shame, really. }|

I see a lot of metallic colored toy robots being sold in Italy. Made me think Italians must like the metallic paint on toy robots. I prefer anime accurate colors myself. On another, but similar subject, does anybody here know if the reason why white colored limbs in anime are usually replaced with chrome or gray on toys is because white turns yellow over time?

i like the colors honestly and on top of that i know if i get the old GX-31 or the GX-31V even if they were sealed the joints will be in awful conduction thanks to the time lol so this one is the safe and the best choice my GX-50 Combattler V joints wasn't good specially the battle tank and i bought it new, how ever i love him

There goes the Italian preference for metallic colors theory.

its not that BAD......colors are decent though my main concern is that they manage to fix the flimsy groin they did on the 1st Voltes V release....im basically SOLD for this one.....hopefully there would be enough from where i pre-order them @ BBTS....but who knows, Bandai might cash in a 2nd run for Voltes V???

and how bout the sticky fists problem? hope that bandai resolved that with the new release. on whether bandai will reissue the 40th anniversary voltes, i kinda doubt it. if it were a regular release, and being such a popular robot, i will not bet against a reissue. however, since its a 40th anniversary commerative edition, it dont really make much sense reissueing it.

I have this pre ordered from bbts and am thinking about canceling. I don't mind the red, but this version doesn't move me. I was hoping it would look more like the 31v. I have the GX-31 and can't justify needimg/spending on this.

I do have the GX31 but I dont have the SOC-GX31V so this is an easier decision for me... And, anything new Voltes V that Bandai makes is a must have for me...
Also, the new colors look good to me... Love the blue but the candy red metallic color is a tiny bit too much...
However, I'm SOLD !!!

I am 50% Italian and I don't like the new Voltes colours, hehe. The only Voltes V I'll get will be the original GX-31, which has anime-accurate colours. I will, however, get the 40th anniversary Mazinger Z, despite the metallic paintwork. Because it's Maz I like the GX-01R colors better, but thsìis one has the headsculpt of the 01R+, looks more evil, I like it. That's the main reason I'm getting it, not the paint.
