thanks for the pictures RoboFestivus, i wonder if they put a double jointed knee im kinda like mojacko i never had any QC problems with any of my Bandai Figures and i have over a dozen, except with the SRC Shin Mazinger z the legs are insanely tight other than that nothing at all back to the sub if any of you guys dont have any GX Mazinger z (the classic one not shin) this is by far the most perfect one i might get one but it will be just grinding the same character and feed Bandai ideas of repaints lol i have 7 Mazingers and the 8th is on the way

I don't think we'll see double-jointed knees on this one. Aside from the head sculpt, it's practically identical to a regular gx-01r, articulation-wise.
Really, the only differences on the figure should be the paint and the head. Oh well...

Let me see if I understand. Are you saying that you believe SOCs never come with paint imperfections out of the box? If that's the case, then I am very happy for you that you have had nothing but good experiences with your SOCs. As for pictures, look above at the new GX-01R 40th Anniversary. NO I dont and NEVER believe that SOC never came with paint imperfections!!! I did not said anything like that so please STOP assuming. For the past 9 years of an active member of Robot Japan I have read too much horrific stories about these Toy manufacturers. This forum is the living proof of those testimonials. Members reviews are the most honest and helpful thing, old and new hobbyist and even hard core collectors can equip themselves from this giant TOY makers. So if you think your still living in a bubble where SOC are made perfect, well sorry to disappoint you peeps, the reality is "some" SoC have some issues (though NOT all of them). And long live Robot Japan for their awesome reviews, comment and opinions . hooooooray!!! Now Based from the pictures it clearly shows paint chipping off the NEW SoC figure. Now I am NOT 100% sure if this was a sloppy paint job from Bandai, it could have been an isolated case(hoping) or paint apps was so thin paint starts chipping off when handled. There could have been more reasons to it but I really dont know what? But like what I said pictures dont lie! Paint chipping are evidently in there! That is why I was asking everyone else...."Was it really paints chipping off out of the box or was it a sloppy paint job from Bandai??? It may sound a sarcastic question but the thing is I want know howd it happen coz Im afraid Bandai might screw up the paint apps with Voltes V as well.

As for the Mazinger in the photos, I doubt that we'll see any with the exact same imperfections as that one, or many with paint imperfections at all.

Great pics Baron! So it seems that 01R40th's blue is pretty much the same blue used on the 01R+. Which is great. It means they're basically the same figure: the sculpt is identical, but the 01R40th sports metallic paint and a cool box! Why spend lotsa money on the limited 01R+ when you can get the improved version for less than 100 bucks

Baron, thanks for the photos! And congratulations! You got a perfect Mazinger and you got it fast. Those who ordered from Anime Island should be receiving it by this time next year.

also the scrander, pileder and jet etc are also metallic red. Heh, so everything got the metallic finish, right? Both the figure and the accesories. Good to know. So even the Iron Cutter blades are metallic, I assume. Man I'm really anxious to get my hands on one now but I'll have to wait till my local store gets them in stock. Probably January 2015.
