Not to start any panics but.... Here's and interesting read about SOC 40th Voltes www.facebook.com/greattoys/photos/a.928182840533702.1073741974.218235021528491/928217900530196/?type=1&theaterIf you're having trouble reading the blurry text on the image, just click on the "see more" on the right side to read the full thing. I guess this confirms the rumors I've heard about a shortage in supply for Voltes. I know Maz and Minerva didn't really sell well (Gee, #xxx version of Maz not selling, wonder why) maybe that was part of the reason why Bandai cut back? Either way... it sucks. Gold

Dude!!!! Super crap! We got the Toy-wave link on the 25th and the new Voltes V was 225 before shipping. Today the 29th, its now $330 before shipping! WTF? I just got paid and was going to buy one and they've already jumped to BS prices?!?!? Super irritated. I'm actually scared that I will be shafted by the new pricing. Toy-wave hasn't sent me an invoice for my preorder yet

I've simply accepted the reality where I will never own any of the Nagahama mechs.

Gold This is indeed suprising. I would have thought bandai would want to bleed the figure as much as possible, and last thing they would do is to put a cap on the production of voltes v (of all figures). Anyway, i have made some enquiries locally and a toy dealer have confirmed there is a shortage worldwide. Lets hope prices of the 40th ann will not reach the heights of the 31v.

I've simply accepted the reality where I will never own any of the Nagahama mechs. Isn't the reissue GX-59 Daltanias still selling at a reasonable rate, even pretty close to the original retail pricing in secondary markets? There's at least three brand new ones from the search link below: ekizo.mandarake.co.jp/shop/en/search.do?action=keyword&doujin=all&keyword=gx-59&searchStrategy=keywordWhy do you say so? If you need a Voltes just get the regular GX-31. 's a lot cheaper than the other two releases I don't see any cheap (reasonably priced would be ok too) MISB GX-31 in the secondary market - Can you point me to one?

Honestly, I did imagine that 40th anniversary Aphrodai A wouldn't sell well (sorry Sayaka, but your performance in the show was mediocre at best). Besides, anyone who wanted an Aphrodai would go for regular GX-08, I think. But Mazinger Z? That surprised me. I guess Bandai really made too many versions in the last years

Well, when you can still get the Mazinger Angel femmebots at their original retail pricing at secondary markets, that should be a sure sign that these figures don't sell well. And the Mazinger Angel figures were gorgeous!

And if I'm gonna go out of my way to dish out the cash to settle for a "lesser" tooling of two or more variants, I might as well save up and pay the scalpers for the better one.

Considering Bandai didn't anticipate the demand for GX-31V-40, I don't feel so bad now after paying the HLJ price. :/

Gold Thanks for sharing Gold. I think there are other reasons as well - I noticed some collector in my local group were buying like 5 copies each! That will definitely inflate the demand.

Yeah, I'm just hoping Bandai will resume production later on? Hard to imagine the actual reason why there's a shortage but Bandai should know better going by the preorders?

If none of them pan out, and I've been looking there too, getting the original GX-31. No offense to anyone here, I don't care for the striping and such on the GX-31V's anyway...to each their own.

Man I went all over the internet last night, and all the pre-order listings are closed. Super irritated. And websites that are advertising the 40th Voltes are showing $300 plus prices already. Ebay is already full of inflated prices. At least ou may be able to get the first version cheaper now.

Considering Bandai didn't anticipate the demand for GX-31V-40, :/ If thats the case, i dunno why Bandai keeps understimating the power of Voltes V in regards to crazed demand from voltes v fans. well, perhaps.. another case of "Combattler is- Big in Japan" thang.. not Voltes. In Japan.. ofcourse.

In Japan.. ofcourse. I want to get Combattler too (the "black" version looks cool...no Voltes version?!), but it's easy pickings to get one for as low as $100 USD if you look hard enough. There's also the aformentioned Mazingers. Whoever is the beancounter at Bandai needs to get fired for continually underestimating Voltes V.

When the SoC line was still young, Bandai made a black version of everything: black GX-01, black GX-02, black GX-03, black GX-04, black GX-05, black GX-01R... black GX-10 (yeah, even Boss Borot got a black repaint). Then, someone at Bandai must have realized that making a black version of almost every SoC was a waste of time and diecast. I know for sure that the first Combattler I'll own will be a GX-03. Maybe one day I'll get the GX-50 as well (plus the SoC Nambara base), but to start off the GX-03 is good enough.
