OFF TOPIC So i just finished watching Voltes V the story is good and different than Combattler V, but the ending is -1000 in my opinion just like Daimos Awesome story but not so awesome ending. Combattler V is normal comparing to the two but the ending of Combattler V was decent enough in my opinion i think Tadao Nagahama was improving on both show after Combattler V and kept the best for last in Daimos, Voltes V was good and fun to watch but it suffers from Combattler V resemblance not only in Robot but also characters other than that its really cool and by that i watched all of the Robot Romance Trilogy, the best story for me is Daimos, now i need to get both Voltes V & Daimos

iirc, Nagahama (or possibly other staffers like Tomino) were quite fond of the fatal kamikaze attacks of important characters on the Voltes V anime. Early and often, too, I reckon. Looking back now, it was kinda surreal they were allowed to do that back in the day and we watched those fatal attacks when we were kids! I don't think later anime has those kinds of early suicidal attacks anymore until like the last couple episodes of a series for climax stuff.

It's the only one I watched from Nagahama as of now, but I liked it. Story was decent, characters were decent, ending had a plot twist. And the robot fights were cool. I need to watch Combattler now.

Leaps & bounds comparison, sweet improvement I say!
Daimos ending is not soo good, I really like the twist in the ending part of Voltes V. I like the Nagahama trio but havent watched the full episodes of Combatler V but still hes an iconic robot in my era.

Yes but that is just a trick, the same things were changed with GX31,they are comparing it to the 1st version, the things like longer tread legs and chromed feet were all found on GX-31V which is teh superior of the 3 anyhow. Why they didnt just go all the way and make the antennae chrome like on 31V is baffling to me.

I reckon the only difference between the original GX-31V and GX-31V(40th) is the coloring. Considering the current scalping price on the original GX-31V, I don't think it's really that "superior" to pay the additional US$300+-US$400+ more for just the different coloring over the GX-31V(40th)...

Maybe the guys over there just don't have the GX-31V in their possession and only have the original GX-31? That's why they're comparing their original GX-31 with the GX-31V(40th). The 40th's improvements are quite new if you only ever have the old GX-31, anyway...

Ofcousre not,but I was just saying they are different none the less,I wasnt thinking of teh money differences,I should have added that indeed your point is correct on that,my apologies.Maybe Im being unfair as alot of you may love this new Voltes,Its great if its the only one you own just to have one,but If you own either of teh other 2 its really not worth it In my opinion.Im also biased as GX31V is actually one of my top 3 favorite SOC.

I prefer this new offering but as much as I love the artsy new box I wil only give props to the 31V for it's box. I do like the nostalgic cardboard insterts etc that are an homage to the original toy. The tampo'd numbers and markings on the actual toy however just look silly to me on a modern toy. To each his own I guess.
