talkin about sales..so far after 3 different versions which all sold like hotcakes.. in some regions.. the newer 40th is becoming rarer by the day.. if not... going more and more expensive.. now almost the same value as the first version.. The 1st release was the flimsiest version, from my experience maybe case to case but mine is soo flimsy I couldnt get a proper pose I like when displaying it. I thought that the respect version was the most expensive, the 40th candy red version think is latest and bandai have made some fixes on it. Though others claim its all the same gimick as respect version. I havent opened my 40th version, no more space to display it. LoL. I have the Respect version. At MSRP it was around the same as the re-issue. You just never see it not third party with heavy markup as its rare. It is however absolutely gorgeous. The markings really give it some life and focus. It has the same joints as the Anniversary version. Overall the joints on all of these are SOC type joints. Better than the classic Popy and DX by miles, but nowhere close to SRC due to compromises for transformation. All of the combiner SOC's are a little wobbly around the hips and knees. And while you can get some dynamic poses, you won't get close to what you can achieve with SRC. The articulation on my Voltes is on par for better or worse with my Gunbuster, Ideon, Combatler V, Daitarn 3, Zambot 3 Daioja and Trider G7. Some have better knees, hips or shoulders, but they all fall within the same general ranges.

300usd is already a premium price for GX-31 40th,, considering its original price.. was below 20kyen or 200usd.. so obviously its peaking.. about DX Great Maz.. i dont think its sold out in the same pace as VV31-40th.. even in some places its shelf warming and is overstocked.. even dropped to 300usd converted.. like sum1 posted in Hk..

Its has some limit on other pose but Voltes V is just way too flimsy to even get a proper standing position.

of course it will out sell Mazinger since Bandai is the only company who makes Voltes V and they only made 3 version, every fan is going to it specially those who missed the first two versions but the last laugh is for Mazinger Z just how many version in SOC or SRC ? they all have decent sales even they are almost identical and there is a small time gap between them and you can find the GX-31 40th anniversary for less than $300 here www.nippon-yasan.com/figures/12355-soul-of-chogokin-chogokin-40th-anniversary-ver-gx-31v-voltes-v-reissue.htmland i guess the DX Great Mazinger sold out much faster than Voltes V some stores even asked more than the MSRP Im a Voltes V fan I got a the 1st version but I still went ahead and bought the 40th version, Im guessing its the same case with Mazinger Z fans. I mean lets face it if your a fan you probably wont missed out a release unless probably your new to toy collecting hobby. I could have bought Mazinger Z but theres something about Voltes V thats nowhere to be found in Mazinger Z. I for one believe that Mazinger Z is "the soul of chogokin" franchise robot no debate on that. But Voltes V is just one of Bandai's greatest representation of a combining robot. A combining Robot with a really intimate story that every fan in the Philippines can relate with. Oh Im laughing alright about Mazinger Z SRC, Bandai is milking too much on the mold, to the point that its getting really monotonous & ridiculous. Its a repaint for crying out loud Bandai, give us a Voltes V or Combatller V SRC version. DX compairing to a GX? Isnt that a bit far stretch? Like big sweet waterlmelon to a tiny juicy apple? Same as GX to a SRC? The later has some size issues but has more articulation punch than a regular GX. IMHO The best sales comparison would be a GX 40th Mazinger Z to GX Voltes V. The fact is Voltes V 40th version beat GX 40th Mazinger Z a$$ in terms of sales.

The respect version is really the version that is sought after for. I keep busting my head for not getting it way way before when it was release. Its has something about it that has some nostalgic look reminiscing & giving homage to the DX version but with recent gimmick and articulation of the recent GX Voltes V.

if you remember the time it was on PO it was like Voltes V, some stores asked more when they open their OP after it was closed in others, also most store have it now for + $500 its keep peaking up too, still i think no figure will peak as the DX Mazinger z the most reasonable price i saw was $620 and if you want the Jet Scrander with it lol thats will be close to a $1000 again this is the cheapest i found and thats like 4 40th anniversary voltes v exactly Bandai made some figure that no one did but them i also wish if they do all of the robots from the Robot Romance Trilogy i have the GX-50 the articulation is very limited comparing to the new 40th anniversary Voltes v i finished watching Voltes by the time they announced the 40th anniversary it was on my list but not at the top of it when i saw the 40th anniversary it jumped to the top i skipped the 40th anniversary Mazinger z its just that i didnt feel its a must since i have the GX-01R along with alot of Mazinger z figures so i didnt get it, and i agree voltes v is a fine example of Bandai great engineering, speaking of Philippines most of the collectors i know in Instagram bought the 40th anniversary by 2 - 3 units per person, i guess thats help alot in the sales thinking about the repaints i guess they did that because they want to fund Golion im sure WEB asked an insane amount of money for that license, and you know the rule if it sale well make more lol well the GX doesnt show the full glory of Mazinger z so i thought it will be fair to compare the DX instead of the GX , for me personally i find some SRC way better than SOC for example Grendizer the SRC version is a really well made figure i know its smaller but you get more articulation and better proportion over all they even show a prototype for the double spazer its a matter of time till they do the others and true the 40th anniversary Voltes got more sales than Mazinger but in front of every Voltes there was at least 5 releases of Mazinger so normally the market doesn't have a shortage of Mazingers but it was hard and expensive to find Voltes true but its light years better than the old combining robots, GX60 for example i want to see an SRC version, i know most wont agree with this but even if it was the same size as God Sigma i will still want them

true but its light years better than the old combining robots, GX60 for example i want to see an SRC version, i know most wont agree with this but even if it was the same size as God Sigma i will still want them I'm in full agreement. While I love my SOC's each a complex puzzle of joy and metal. More and more I find I really like the SRC's. They are the ones I pick up and play with. The ones that do the amazing poses. I want some more classic Robots from them. Combatler V, Voltes V, Getter Dragon, Liger and Poseidon! Voltron (new or old) and most of all the Mazinger Fembots. Which would seem a no brainer as they could use the molds for a dozen robots.

is this dynamic enough bro ? scontent-lhr3-1.cdninstagram.com/t51.2885-15/e35/12338710_544382102380806_508694419_n.jpgjoking aside, i get your point SRC is by far better articulated than the SOC, but the 40th anniversary Volts V have a decent articulation if you compare it to the older releases they improve it alot, most of us want to see this new joints get to some of the older SOCs for better poses also the joints on the 40th anniversary are better than the respect version and the first release specially the legs and when you transform it to Combattler V Grand Dasher mode It's great use within the limits. Well, I reckon it really depends on which bots you're actually comparing. The older SOCs (GX-01 to GX-44, perhaps) have really limited articulation, but the later SOCs have actually pretty good articulation. As long as they weren't just simple recolors. iirc, my GX-45 has the same articulation as both my SRC Maz and SRC Shin Maz. Likewise, my SOC GX-31V (40th-anniv) has pretty much the same articulation as my SRC God Sigma, considering GX-31V was an older SOC design. My SRC God Sigma has been in storage forever, but I'm sure somebody here can do a similar pose of it ala my SOC GX-31V below just for posterity's sake: i.imgur.com/Ww6Za1Pl.jpgIt would be nice if Bandai do finally give us SRC versions of Combattler and Voltes, as well improved versions of SOC Daimos and Raideen.
