How do you know he lives in Italy? Oh I'm sure I wrote it somewhere, apart from the "new members introduction" thread @ chogokinabdul I actually live near Milan, northern part of Italy. Well, it's not really that difficult to find places which still have Zambot for sale, even near me (sort of). They all sell it for around the same price though, 170-180 euros, sometimes more and sometimes less. So, in about 7-8 hours I'm gonna go to that store, and see how much they sell it for. I'm hoping that, since it primarily is a comic shop (they just sell a handful of figures) and since it is not even "that" big, their prices might be good. I hope.

Oh.
Isn't it really difficult to import toys to Italy tho?

Apparently it is... more problematic than importing them to the US at least We manage to get them toys here anyway, but prices, for some reason, get inflated. And sometimes, they get inflated a lot.

Probably the import fees. Domestic stores have to pay those and still add some overhead in order to make profit, after all.

Yup, exactly. Still, stores which primarily sell figures and toys have higher prices than shops which sell comics and mangas and a few toys, usually. The only thing that changes is that "overhead". Guess I'll find out soon, I'm going out now. If that Zambot is not too pricy, it's mine

I decided to look up what sort of import tax rates Italy has and they're actually lower than Finland - albeit by a rather small margin.
Isn't Italian postal service notoriously slow?

Well sh*t. Guess what, price was not low, at all. They were selling Zambot for 215 euros. Around 270 US dollars Man I checked what else they had and the toys were all too expensive, compared to their original price. I even saw a SRC Mazinger Z and thought "well, maybe I'll take something home anyway". Nope. Price tag of 55 euros (70$) no thanks, that's way overpriced. Man, I don't know how they came up with those prices, but they ain't gonna see a penny from me. So no Zambot, I think I'll wait after GGG comes out anyway... Yes, postal service here is slow. And not only that. Almost everything here is slow

Sounds like you'd be better off getting one from Mandarake then...

Yup, I guess I would. Speaking of which. I was looking at things listed in Mandarake, for price comparing purposes, when I saw that GX-59 Daltanious is listed between 21K and 24K yen. We got high prices for Daltanious even on Ebay and Amazon (that was to be expected anyway, hehe). But in that infamous store I went today, it was actually cheaper than in all these websites! Just 205 euros! (20K yen) I didn't know it was that expensive, to be honest. I mean, it's quite a lot more than Zambot, even if they're both 3-part combiners, and both feature a smaller humanoid robot. Should I get it for that price? Has anyone here... checked its price over time, do you know if its getting cheaper or more expensive? Sorry for the OT, by the way

Still looking for some info about GX-59, reading through the thread here in the forums...
Initial price of 16K yen. I mean, 4K yen more, for shipping costs and taxes etc. paying the equivalent of 20K yen wouldn't be so bad, right?

(Didn't read the post correctly before) I hope you find one within a reasonable price.... It is hardly the best SOC, however it has the old diecast robot feel in it. It looks great, I like it a lot.

I would say get it from them ! it is a great toy and you will like it!! also try to negotiate a deal with the shop! tell them if you want to buy both daltanious and zambot what would be the total? can they bring down the price of zambot to the 150 euro margin if you get both? tell them it is a prety old toy and no one will buy it of them for that price! you never know ! it might work

I'll get it from them, maybe even tomorrow if I can About that negotiation for Zambot... Mhm don't know if they'll come to terms and give me Zambot for 75% of its actual price. Might work, who knows. But then, I'm afraid I'd not have enough money for the upcoming GX-68 I better get my priorities straight. But I'll get Daltanious, that's for sure

(20K yen) 205 euro is almost 28k yen tho... You are right... I thought the conversion was different mhmm this means, it pretty much would cost the same to order one from the web, and ship it here (you know, crazy shipping prices to europe...). Maybe it would still cost a bit less than that. Being optimistic/realistic here. As for Zambot, checked again some prices here and there, and managed to find one in amazon, sold by Angolz, which would cost me almost 200 euros shipped. All the others are more expensive, if we count the shipping. Doesn't matter how I get it, either via internet or local stores, the price is almost the same in both cases, thanks to the shipping prices of course I could get that Zambot from Angolz. If I manage to buy it in time, since they only have 1 item left and I'd need to recharge my credit card... and even if I bought it from them, I'd have to wait 15-20 days for it to arrive here. I'm tempted to get the one at that store, you know? I'd spend just 20something euros more, and get it immediatly...
