Just got this guy today. What struck me was the size. It's small. But that coming from years of collecting 1/60 scale Macross valks and even the 1/48 Yamato's before that. Appears to have a nice matte sheen?

Obviously the size would be smaller coz its 1/100 right? But how about the qualtiy and build? Any loose joints or fragile points we should be worrying. Just got a shipping notice from HLJ last night, So Im gueesing in a about 2 weeks time mine will arrive. Damn Im expecting 3 toys in transit mode including my long awaited Voltes V from BBTS....

I would say it's a decent figure especially for the price. Not happy about the part swapping for the landing gear, cockpit shield, gunpod and nosecone (needs to be removed to attach armor). If you've transformed any VF-1 Valkyrie in the past, you'll have no problems with this. Not sure why it's called Hi-Metal though when there's not much on it. Another pet peeve of mine is the backpack doesn't really lock into place so when the armor boosters are attached it may cause it to droop backwards due to the weight. The figure itself is pretty light but once armored up, it has some heft to it. All the armor bits lock on pretty tight on mine except for the waist parts which tend to fall off rather easily. If you're wanting the best Armored Valkryie at this time, save up for the Arcadia Armored VF-1J. I believe collectors are snagging these because of the announced zentraedi regult battle pods and because we wanted to see what they can do with the VF-1 again.

Appears to have a nice matte sheen? Sorry but it doesn't. It may be because of the lighting in my house. The plastic on the armor is the same as on the super/armor parts of the Macross Frontier valks.

Thanks for the mini review....Darnit I should have waited before I bit the bullet. Anyways its a nice addition to my VF1J herd.

Yup! He does look good, GGG! Despite its flaws, this is one thing that I really like about it. And this is for all 3 modes! I'll try to take more pics later.

Wonder what the scale difference will be with the Revoltech version? Not sure I can justify the Hi-Metal R version for myself, as Revoltech's version is excellent. The Regult's design lends itself perfectly to the Revoltech engineering.
