Otaku Mode is a reliable shop. Only 3 issues I have with them are 1)upfront payment and 2)they're the slowest retailer to get things from, usually a month or three later than BBTS or other US shops, and 3)free shipping only for $150+ orders but all items in your order have to be released in same month (because if it's not free shipping, expect to pay a lot more for shipping).

Ok. DHL surprisingly delivered my HM-R VF-0S today. Yay! I think Bandai changed the actual box this time, as it's a heckuva more sturdy than the paper-boxes of previous HM-R's. At any rate, it's pretty much kinda like any VF-1 HMR, but there are some stuff I dislike at the moment: -- stupid floaty neck joint thingy and fiddly neck panel. -- Jolly Roger heatshield did not want to slide out smoothly at first to fully cover and be flush in battroid-mode. The whole chest actually came off while I was attempting to slide it out. -- unlike the older VF-1, a bit fiddly/insecure nose/fusealge that will either easily pushes in or pull out, and both dislodges/messes up the underside head/face covers and jolly roger heatshield. -- the default ball fists are still too tiny. -- the gunpod is not totally securely held by either of the gunpod/pointing-hands. -- Bandai seems to hate both of the pitot tubes to have made the usually easy plug-install a new time-wasting adventure. I didn't even try with the stumpy one. Other than that, it's ok. pictars:

I just received my VF-0S too.
As you said the thicker cardboard box is a nice improvement over the flimsy boxes from before. This extra print on the backing card (which is usually plain grey or silver) is a nice bonus. I think it'll look nice on a wall or in a display.

The terrible nub mark issue still plagues HMR. Look at how bad this is. The cut actually took off chunks from the mold. Or they would just paint over it. This just 2 examples of numerous bad cuts, I don't want to put up 8-10 photos of nub marks.
Dang I know this isn't Bandai's premium DX Chogokin line but it's $150 if I bought it from US retail. That is still a lot of money for a toy. Bandai should be undergating these to begin with. We know they have the tech because it's on a lot of MG and RG Gundam kits.

Thanks for the VF-0S reports. I think I am better off just sticking with the Destroids, and not venture further with the HMR valks. Have a few already, but doesn't seem the flimsiness and quality improving much, even though when the price is almost doubled when compared to the earlier VF-1s.

Thanks for sharing those photos. For the price tag Bandai should at least be strict with these issues. But on a business perspective Im guessing Bandai will release a cleaner improve version $$$ |
