I believe NINNIN did the actual design and look of this Raideen but T-Rex helped with the engineering side of this figure for Fewture. That's what I'm trying to find out. On Artstorm page they credit design to NINNIN, then prototype production to XELFLEX. So is XELFLEX a member of the T-Rex team? XELFLEX twitter feed shows projects he's working on and such, but I cannot find any mention of T-Rex.

Agreed. The Fewture Raideen, in my opinion, is second only to the Ex Getter G trio (and Ex Getter G Armageddon trio by default). Ex Raideen didn’t get a lot of fanfare upon release but I think it’s easily better than Ex Grendizer and the Mazingers. Tons of metal, accessories, a transforming gimmic, and a beautiful sculpt. Glad you like it as much as I do.

For its size, it weighs less than some smaller SOC.

I guess you’re right - my memory has betrayed me. I just lifted Raideen off the shelf for the first time in long time and couldn’t feel much cold metal surface. The figure has a reasonable heft so there must be something substantial in there behind the plastic plating but, yes, it is not as loaded with obvious metal as my hyperbolic post would’ve indicated. Dammit. Well, regardless, it’s still an awesome sculpt.

Because of my expectation of that diecast feel from other EX Gokin figures, my first impression of Reideen was not great. But the sculpt really grew on me.

no way !
EX Mazinger was (& still) so bad a$$ that it inspired Go Nagai to do Shin Mazinger Zero, it have ton of metal, alot of accessories, and if you get Great Mazinger you get an extra handle to combine both swords into a huge sword
on top of that both Mazinger and Great Mazinger have something Raideen doesn't have, which is they are pure Taku Sato, he personally watched over each stage of the development for both
as for Grendizer, photos dont give it justice but in person its a beast of a figure, combine it with the Spazer and you will have one of the best looking Grenidzer ever
i really like Raideen and hopefully one day i will get one but i dont think its up there with these guys, maybe my opinion will change when i get one

Okay gentlemen, before I speak I submit "Exhibit A" for your consideration.... I LOVE FEWTURE Models. EX Gokin is probably my favorite contemporary line. And Reideen is probably my favorite contemporary figure. Here's why....
NO OTHER EX CAN DO THIS!!!
While it's not a solid metal monster, diecast is throughout as with any other figure in the line. But Reideen has a delicate feel, like fine china or crystal. The metal is not as thick - but this gokin is refined and balanced. The ratchets don't click - they're buttery smoothe. And the tolerances are perfect to this day....
This might shock a lot of people who love EX Gokin and don't have Reideen. But it makes their other figures feel old fashioned. There, I said it! That's why I love this figure - because it takes the awesomeness of the classic EXs... gorgeous paint, premium sculpt, the finest attention to detail... basically it's just way nicer than a toy should ever be... but it's NEXT GEN! Reideen fuses elements I find in Sentinel figures I love... extreme articulation and such, and combines it with the things that made EX Gokin legendary.
And tbh, I think this design is such a step forward, that's why we haven't gotten Jeeg yet. We've seen the pics for years.
But there's no going back....

i know an EX Gokin can do that pose, and the name start with J
the thing is bro, i really dont think any EX Gokin figure is old fashioned, the thing about this line designs, they are ageless, you can pick any figure and show it to someone who doesn't know the release date and im sure he will think they are new release, and thats the beauty of this line
and of course Raideen will get ahead of old releases since they are old some are 13 years old but even by today standers they are sill amazing
for Jeeg and according to Art Storm it still under development along with Dai Apolon versions

This looks stunning to my partially colorblind eyes. If only it had the fade-in set that the SOC has...
