So I made a sketch for Daitenba. I need the shorter legs to be in line with the cute "deformed" style, but somehow, it looks more like a dog than a horse. Any help will be greatly appreciated..

I think for a base to start with, it looks good. Just have to kick it up a few notches...

Maybe chunkier legs would do the trick..? In order to make it look less like a dog, I mean.

Thanks Mr.Ginrai, M.Flesh. I'll try increasing the height a little and beefing the legs. See how it goes.

Ok, increased the leg length a little and tweaked the neck. Think it's looks better now. I might try drawing it in 3D just to make sure. Would also be good if I should decide to send it to the 3D printers instead of completely doing it in styrene sheets.

Dude, I'm speechless- it looks like a perfect SD Daikyojin figure next to that Prime! Do you have any display bases made for your lego-custom figures, or are they standalone figures by themselves? A nice little custom plexi-glass display case would compliment them. Awesome job there, bro! zozo-mag

Thanks! I'm actually glad Prime had similarities with Daikyojin; less work.
I do have a display case for my custom Gatchaman Lego minifigs; a USD1.6 case.. Nice and cheap
The rest of my custom minifigs are just left randomly on a Ikea display shelf.
I do plan to make a custom plexi case like you have suggested, but for my SD Daikyojin and (hopefully) Daitenba once its done.

That Gatchaman case looks so SchwEEt! Did you make the logo for it, or is that the entire official display case for those Gatchaman figures?
I'll need to find some sort of clear "bread-box" case for my diecast jet-fighters.

Nice move! I used to print logos the old fashioned way: on paper, and sealing them onto the surface with wide clear packing tape. lol zozo-mag

Got the 3D sketch of Daitenba done. I think it looks ok, but might need to check my dimensions to make sure that Daikyojin's torso is swappable with the head piece.
I'm looking into doing 3D print for the main body and head sections.

Got the main body of the horse 3D printed and tested it on Daikyojin to make sure it fits. I know it doesn't look much. but it's the first time I've had anything 3D printed. Had to file/sand the part extensively for a smooth finish. Many thanks to gravewolf for advice on 3D printing.

I am genuinely curious and partially hyped to see how it'll turn out. It looks very promising, well done nick Proportions are spot on.

This is phenomenal work! I never would have known this was originally an Optimus if you hadn't told us. I'm generally not a huge fan of SD style robots but this one is certainly an exception. Really good work!

Thanks for the comments guys.
I've already sent more parts for 3D printing, so hopefully will have more to show soon if it goes well.

Couple more parts printed, but quite disappointed with the print for the head. Not sure if it's my 3D model or the shop's printer, but I'll be sourcing another vendor to print it again.

Wow. I'm amazed that it came out like that. Maybe you need to add extra material (like a long square peg or stick) that can be cut or sanded off the back of the head after printing. I bet there is really bad clearance or an angle issue for the print head to end up with something that looks so off compared to the rest of your printed pieces.

I've just sent the head file to another vendor. He told me that the angles were fine, but the orientation when printing might not be correct. I'm now having him print the head in a vertical position, we'll see how it goes. I also realized how vendors tend to prefer PLA to ABS; something to do with temperature control and layer sticking. I hate PLA though, the neck part was done in PLA and it was even tougher to sand down and smoothen compared to ABS.
