This is really cool. Surprised not much discussion of it. Really like the mix of old & new in the design. The only thing bugs me is the price for its size. For an 11" tall figure (from head to toe, not counting the rail gun, similar to a SOC combiner), 40000yen is a very high price to ask, rivaling the 3A Metal Gear Rex, which is a lot bigger than this.

i love the alt or animal mode. The robot mode not as much. i been hoping to see a at least partial diecast model on this guy. and here we are.
riobot no less. happy for the fan of this monstrosity. maybe theyll do more Metal Gears if this sells well! i want Rex from Sentinel.

Love to have it, but I can only afford the Kotobukiya 1/100 model-kit. I think it is even bigger than the Sentinel version.

I feel weirdly cheated that this one doesn't feature squishy silicone breasts.

Please view few video reviews before plunging.
I saw it needs to be on a stand as it cannot stand on its own due to loose joints.

Please view few video reviews before plunging. I saw it needs to be on a stand as it cannot stand on its own due to loose joints. That's a good watchout - I didn't find much on the way of written reviews and only found a few YouTube reviews. The two YouTube reviews that I did skim through did have the figure standing without the stand (at least in the robot mode), so it should be able to do that with some manipulation. I'm fine if the stand is needed in either form though.

The 3A products are definitely awesome, as well as humongous. The sheer size of the Rex that I have is actually the main reason why I didn't pick up a Ray from BBTS at a discounted price.

I'll be getting mine within a week or two. I've seen multiple video reviews saying the joints are snug enough for him to stand on his own. Most pictures I've seen are without the stand too. The one reviewer who didn't get him to stand on it's own sounded lazy and thought just because there's no ratchet joints it can't stand. It really sounded like the guy didn't bother trying to get it to stand.

Don't think the use of a stand is too big of an issue, given the design has tiny feet, ZOE mecha style. If I were getting this, I'll forgive this for once.

Sold out now, at any rate still, hopefully some stock sticks around on HLJ and other sites for the Black Friday deals.

Got mine today! All pics do not include a stand. He stands fine in both modes without a stand, but I would have liked some ratchet joints in the hips. Amiami still has him for the sale price and in stock! The Good: - Paint camo is great very few if any flaws. Nice weathering! - Articulation is good and most joints are tight enough to hold him in most poses. - Transformation is simple and pretty well done. Lots of sliding pieces, but they do lock in place. - Balancing in both modes is not hard. - Moving pistons on the ankles - Well worth the 19,000 yen price tag I paid, but not worth retail price. - No problems extending the knees. The bad: - Some paint chipping on the ankles joints and rear neck joint. Sentinel should have just coated these diecast parts in a metal finish like Bandai instead of using traditional paint. At least it fits in with the weathering of the rest of the toy. lol - The hip joints are tight, but the outward swivel in sahlentropus mode could be tighter. - Rex mode is stable without a stand, but could still have benefited from some ratchet joints. - I wish the railgun also lit up.

Good to see one of our unbiased review. Glad to hear he is without any serious issues.

Thank you! Considering getting this, but still unsure. Solaris Japan's prices are fluctuating up and down, so if it gets as low at your 19000 yen I might go for it. Unlikely to drop any lower in November anyway/

Amiami still has it for 19,000 yen. link- One more random thought, the torso joint should have been more robust. The ball joint inside suffers from some weight issues in sahlenthropus mode, but it only affects a few poses. - There's lot of little details you don't notice until you stare it for a while.

Is it because of the lighting? It looks pretty "clean". Compare with the official photos, hardly see any "weathering".

My pictures were using daytime sunlight so the weathering wasn't being captured on camera. The bottom picture you posted is represenative of the final product. The weathering is on my copy for sure.
