Some new third party company is making their own version of a Metal Build, in the form of the RTX-008 Huckebein from Super Robot Wars OG: www.inask.net/blog-entry-566.htmlI think it's about to be released soon, but have no idea what the price is.

Yeah, I just took notice of this a couple of days ago too. The delay batch is suppose to be out buy the end of the month. The price is around $85-$90 before shipping. It's mainly on Taobao. So if you use a Taobao agent to buy it for you and then ship it to you, you're looking at around $130-$150 total. It's still a preorder on most sellers so there's going to be a 2 week wait. They have it on Aliexpress too, but it's for $200. There seem to be a bunch of minor QC here , But it seem to come will lots of nice accessories. Here's 2 video reviews on YouKu v.youku.com/v_show/id_XMTM1MjAxNDU1Mg==.html?from=s1.8-1-1.2v.youku.com/v_show/id_XMTM1MDY3MTE3Mg==.html?from=y1.7-1.2

Samuel Decal on Facebook told me he was selling these at $100 a piece before shipping. If anyone is interested in it, go ask him.

Great! Thanks for the heads up! Is that an online shop, and does he have testimonies about his activities?

He doesn't have an official site, he does everything via Facebook and Paypal. There's a lot of people who've bought from him before. www.facebook.com/SamueldecalJust send him a PM asking for it.

Got one from a local seller for an equivalent of USD 92 incl. shipping! I'm certainly intrigued about this product.
Thanks again for the heads up!

Good for you! Unfortunately Indonesia is quite far from the US where I live. Be sure to post your impressions when you get it!

Absolutely!
I plan to do a comparison with one of the official metal build Gundams when my Huckebein arrives.

I've got this guy. He's okay. Quality wise there's a lot to be desired - there's a lot of "misting" from the use of superglue during assembly; not difficult to clean up but it'd be nice if I didn't have to. Tolerance wise, the joint tightness is all over the place. My copy has extremely loose forward/backward shoulder swivels and the front skirts dangle loosely without any friction. On the other hand, his hips, knees and ankles are tight, and one of his elbows was so tight I thought I'd break it before it moved. At the same time, his wrists are extremely floppy.
Mine was missing one of the two beam sabers that plugs into the back of the arm, unfortunately. Buyer beware if you're picking this up from Taobao through an agent like Taobaoring because if there's anything wrong with the figure you won't be able to get it fixed. There's at least one seller on ebay and one website selling it that may be safer (tf-direct.com. I'm not associated with them and have never used them myself, so I can't speak to their reliability). They're selling it for around $160 shipped.
Overall I'd say he's pretty cool and it's a neat thing to have a 3rd party Metal Build figure of a SRW:OG design. I just wish the QC was a bit better for the shipped price for those of us who can't buy it in person in China.
I'm going to try to take some photos later today.

I want one but not at these retail prices compared to what it actually goes for. It's less than $100 USD for collectors that can get them in China right?

With fees and shipping I ended up getting it for $150. I'd say it's a fantastic $80 toy. For a $150/$160 toy that's rubbing elbows with the cost of Bandai's Metal Builds, it's got a few too many issues for my taste.

I love the Huck series, but this rendition of the 008 is a little too greeble-ey for my taste. He is handsome, but I prefer the smoother, sleeker look they traditionally sport. Along with that price and those issues you've mentioned, that makes this an easy pass. Just means more money for stupid TWE GGG Star Parts.

Chimungmung is selling it for a bit less than USD 150: chimungmung.com/product_info.php?products_id=2752With shipping, it's going to be comparable to a legit metalbuild release though. He's very pretty, for all of his faults. Quinjester, how do you feel about the quality of material and diecast parts?

Quinjester, how do you feel about the quality of material and diecast parts? Material quality seems fine. It's just the joint tolerances that appear iffy. The metal doesn't quite have the same blackened metal look of an SOC or Bandai DX figure, but I can't really say anything about its longevity since the figure is so new.

I presume it was from the first delivery.
Knowing what I do of the manufacturing process, there's practically no way to turn around changes to the production line that quickly if the second production was during the first one's release month, so I'd doubt the second batch is any different.
