"Micronauts have a big cult following and these characters are sure to please a true Micronaut fan"
I love how in the interview the final thought is "...give these a chance..."
The Lobros DOES look cool, but totally not in a micronauts way.

If you looked at the posts I put up with the custom Micronauts, you may come to the conclusion that there is a fanbase who are into MICRONAUTS for the sake of the comic book characters, but not so much into Microman. I have been noticing that there is a very stron fanbase of the mego micronauts in particular. They all appear to be a well spoken and very bright lot of collectors, but they seem to turn a blind eye to the the whole microman scene. Mego is mego, Microman is microman. It really weirded me out to see a phrase wirtten by a micronaut collector something like "Micronauts will one day live again". I never really thought they died. I guess I just got used to the fact that the toys did not ORIGINALLY come from the USA and I stopped treating them as such. Time Traveler = M101 www.geocities.jp/toys_st/001/m-101.htmlPhariod = Microman Commander Biotron = Robotman, Star searcher = Surveyor-1 page11.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/n13975105That sorta thing. For a big crowd of people the only thing that matters are the mego oriented and comic book characters. I always thought we could use a few good customizers to recast Microman GEAG's "karza" body into a 3 3/4 baron karza, but that's just me and my crazy talk. I don't know that many people besideds myself who are willing to customize toys from that era. There has always been a strong demend for comicbook toy tie-ins. Comic book buyers shell out a lot more on Spawn figures and marvel legends than they do on Microman toys in the US comic shops. Perhaps someone from outside the US can back me up, but I don't see the "rack" of microman toys at the comic shop flying off the shelves (yet there is a whole wall devoted to spawn and toybiz which is in a constant state of flux) There are customs popping up of comicbook oriented characters all the time. Almost exclusively characters which have not yet been done. Toy makers want to know what is currently hot. They aim toys at the people who are noticibly dropping decent money in comic shops on current figures. If people customize a character and it sells big, you can guarentee that companies are watching this sort of behavior. If it sells, companies will be influenced. Marvel Legends and Spawn may not be as cool as microman, but they sell big. I think we need to give Takara some feedback, so they know that people are still buying their toys as well. Tell them We want Cyborg and Microman to come back to the USA and in bigger markets. www.takara-usa.com/company/contact.php
