Seeing them side by side really brings home that Bandai uses much much better quality paint. Not talking paint apps. I'm talking the grain, quality and thickness of the paint itself. The KOB V-1 really used some horrible stuff.

Seeing them both side by side.. u can think both as with different approach.. Its like looking at one Masterpiece and the other a Maketoys or a CHUG Transformer hehe..

Looking at your pics guys , I can't forgive AMIAMI for the way they are handling my lost package of pre ordered voltron !!! it has been now for more than 4 months and still they don't have an answer !! and because I trusted them and waited there is nothing I can do now !! I am MAD now and thinking of cancelling my other preorders with them!!

I have ordered from Nippon Yassan, Anime export and HLJ, no problems at all. I was able to visit Ami Ami on their Akihabara store, they were quite helpful but couldn't reserve a Voltron though when I was there. I hope that Ami Ami can resolve and refund you as he is not a cheap figure. Although alot of people have said this but try to email them again for a refund! Goodluck bud!

They should do their best to make it right. They should keep the communication open to resolve this ASAP. To make both party happy. Please let them know youre one of our esteemed member and treating one of us wrong is not something to take lightly....
I know when i was slighted by Anime Export (and Evolution Toys), i got so much moral supports and what not from bros here and our yet to be bros. I am sure Anime Export felt it! In day of internet, merchants have to realize a bad customer service is remembered for very VERY long LONG time.

I even offered them to get me a used one because I don't want to pay the secondary market prices but they said they can't !!

I've been burned on preorders before. Now I order from multiple places. So sometimes I get stuck with multiples of same item. However I'm usually able to sell them off. I ordered GX-72 Megazord from Amiami. Came faster than I expected. Was in mint condition. I was very impressed. Was well packed. Better than any US based company I have ordered from.

sorry to hear that, but bro you MUST act quickly you still have time, the 180 days isn't over yet, and man they kept you on hold for 4 months ! people solves crimes in less than that time, i honestly admire your patient, for me i cant do the same at all if i were in your place i will wait till there is only 10 days left from the 180 days , then file a claim to Paypal with AmiAmi emails saying " wait because if I did so it will only make things worse"

I even offered them to get me a used one because I don't want to pay the secondary market prices but they said they can't !! what you can do is to inform amiami you are going to file a dispute so that paypal can monitor the situation for you and you will only escalate if you do not get a resolution from amiami before180 days and you can always close the case if amimai sort things out satisfactorily for you. explain this to amiami and they ought to understand.

Back to the GX-71 vs. KOB debate. Bandai's Voltron is possibly the best combiner of all time. It's perfect. It's completely anime accurate. It's heavy. The paint... the materials... it's super high quality all around. For me, it sets the modern standard.
There have been others. The original GoLion is glorious. I have 2, and they are definite centerpieces of my collection. But, the articulation is extremely limited.
The Masterpiece was highly desirable for years, because it offered greater posability, a modern look, and high quality. But, it's floppy. It barely stands straight. And the limbs fall off.
The KOB brought something new - a unique style, for starters. Is it a purist's Voltron? No. But it stands out. Anywhere I post pics I get a HUGE response. People notice this piece. It's articulation is spectacular. I love the 360° swivel waste. It can hold a frickin' high kick, for God's sake. And, it is solid. Nothin' loose here. The ratchets are extremely satisfying. It's packed with diecast.
As a Voltron collector, there's something so different about the KOB that I absolutely love. It's a mavric piece. It took all the conceptions of what Voltron was and completely rearranged them. As long as collectors are passionate about chogokin, Voltrons will be reimagined, reengineered and reproduced. But, there will never be another quite like the KOB.

I ordered my Gundam metal build destiny full package and the wings for Gundam strike freedom a month ago. Amiami provided tracking and I recevied it within 2 weeks from purchasing date. They did pack safety considering the size of both item are huge.
Bro, I believe Amiami should ship the Voltron with tracking number, right? Coz the item is expensive and huge.

Whatever happened to the KOB V2? Nothing yet even though we saw stock and advertising and even preorders on BBTS.
UPDATE: LCMToys finally responded to my email and said that he was on a long holiday. He promptly refunded my money and sent some pictures of the black KOB V2 sample he has. So happy ending for me on that. I would prefer the figure but I'll use the money for other purchases.
Chogokinabdul I hope things will work out for you. I think you should do as mecha-mania says and let it play out that way. At least you'll get your money back but unfortunately you'll have to pay more to get him now. When I'm shopping around online I'll definitely keep my eyes open for you.
