I'm actually surprised alot of people had issues with the shoulder locks. I thought that was one of the best features. However......I do think the arm joints(tail joints for red and green)had a major design flaw. Don't know if this is with everybody else's but the arm is supposed to make a clicking sound when you move it. On 2 of my sets, the ratchet on my red lion "popped and stopped clicking". My green lion didn't have this issue. I think the spring they could of used in the arms could of been a little lighter to avoid this issue. But otherwise, yea this needs a reissue. Still the best toy of golion you can get. eBay though is your best bet for now.

I'm unfamiliar with SOC in general. Has there been a case where Bandai reissued a figure very quickly, or do they generally tend to wait a few (or many) years? Given how much people want this figure, I'm surprised they don't reissue as quickly as they can. Just trying to get a better understanding of why Bandai would wait. I think someone also previously mentioned it could be a factory issue? it depends on the demand of the figure
some figure like the GX-31V Voltes got a reissue about one month after the official release, also the GX-48K Big o got a 2nd production run while still on preorder, some figures went years without getting a reissue and some sadly didn't get a reissue at all till today
in my opinion, with Voltron its not a smooth process since its owned by an American company unlike other characters who is owned by Japanese companies, i guess after the huge success of the GX-71 Voltron, WEP will ask more for a license, but of couse we dont know what is happening behind closed doors
Bandai is one of the biggest companies world wide i dont think a factory issue will stop them from producing anything

I had a minor issue with the shoulder locks. Like many, one side was fine but the other was very hard to lock in securely. By no means a deal breaker.

I had a minor issue with the shoulder locks. Like many, one side was fine but the other was very hard to lock in securely. By no means a deal breaker. I had an initial issue with the left shoulder, at first it was incredibly hard to clip in, then I found pushing it in back>front worked and now it works as well as the right shoulder, I pull the figure out the detolf about once a month to transform and still marvel how astonishing it is! I do have a fraction of a chip of paint on one of the pull out 'heels' on one leg lion, I now transform him on a soft sheet of cloth just to avoid any more chips, also I remove my ring as I managed to get the slightest scuff on the torso grey metallic paint. He deserves kid gloves. It might be worth trying a bit of beard trimmer oil on the shoulder locks for those still having issues, I'm finding that stuff very useful on many ratchet joints, especially on G1 transformers, case in point the hips on G1 brainstorm were insanely tight, it has an unusual thick metal pin and an inaccessible ratchet mechanism, I just put the oil on the ends of the pin/rivet and once that oil worked in the ratchets slide like butter now.

Looks great! Seems to have more painted details than normal version. Besides really love the show but 40cm is way to big (and out of scale with every figure I have). I have no problem with it being all plastic but size is a problem (same reason I didn't get mmpr movie megazord). I hope they release a set like the metal defender (although that sold pretty bad for what I've heard).

I buy almost all Voltron sets so I had to snag a Hyperphase Voltron

i think its very unlikely to see a repaint version any time soon, because still there is good market for a reissue
not to mention they already have couple of SDCC exclusives the gx-72 Black Megazord (daizyujin), and the Super Minipla Voltron
if they even mentioned the GX-71 it would steel all the attention from the Super Minipla & maybe the GX-72, so it would be like they are shooting them self in the foot
also they will have something with the GX-78

Every time I see an update on this thread I keep hoping it's some re-issue announcement, with Anime Expo and TFCon happening and SDCC coming up. Alas, just more non-SOC related stuff. You guys are playing with my hope. LOL.
I think Netflix Legendary Defender Voltron needs its own thread apart from this SOC, considering the significant amount of chatter it's generating on its own.

I think someone also previously mentioned it could be a factory issue? They will either do another production run, sometimes, if the figure is still technically on the books as an available item, to increase planned long term stock. They just did that with GX-70 pretty recently. But that is generally invisible to us, beyond the stores will suddenly expect more. I think Voltron has been out long enough that we are not going to see a second production run (although I remain baffled as to why they didn't?) There are times when we have seen a second release or re-release in a fairly short span. But that is often to fill out supply because they are releasing a new companion piece. For example they did a second release of GaoGaiGar as they released Goldymarg. And there's the bad news. Voltron would not be a candidate for that as there is no combining companion piece. Daizyujin/Megazord would be a candidate for that as the Dragonzord is releasing. The only other hope for a short time re-release might be if they do some sort of special color exclusive, like an SDCC figure. But once again it was GX-72 that got that treatment.
