Okay here we go images incoming Now that's the image I've wanted. Proportions look fine here. Lions looks great, they all have a hidden weapon inside their mouth and hey the elbows extend for more range of motion. I'm happy I preordered 2.

if this mystery is an intended gimmick by Bandai.. then its working hehe.. i hope GX-70.. if not as huge name as Voltron.. is significant. GX-70 Dairugger XV?.. GX-70 Albegas? I really hope it's Dairugger XV As much as I wish it, I'm going to go with doubtful. They are showing off GX-71 at SDCC which means Voltron. It means WEP is involved. If GX-70 was Dairugger XV it would be there too as Vehicle Voltron. Gx-70 will be announced at one of the Asian shows likely. Probably something unusual. And maybe something on the smaller side. A lot of the recent ones have been big and pricey. It could also be a rework/retool/reissue with some new features, thus getting a new number? Hmmm? Evil thought. While I think a SOC Dairugger XV if or when it happens won't come for awhile... When does the marketing push for that New Power Rangers movie ramp up? A fully transforming Daizyujin would be a nice SOC candidate?

Even with their big-ass heads, those lions look sweet - especially with their organic poses. That's a pretty dinky display for Voltron btw...

Oddly, after seeing the live pics from SDCC, Voltron seems kinda.. too broad for me in terms of the torso. I think I would've liked the Madtoy proportions more.
The name plates will be both available in "Golion" (in Japanese text) and "Voltron".
BTW, looking at the notches in Black's "wings" I guess we can assume the transformation will be exactly like the old Popy/Godaikin as far as Black's front legs go?
Hope Black's hind legs wont suffer scratching issues with transformation like in the Toynami diecast and old vintage toy.

Only thing I don't like is the central chest of the black lion in robot mode and I also think that the black lion's head looks too small, mainly in lion mode. These are the things that are bothering me the most.
The red and green look great and other than the fact that the yellow and blue lions are a little skinny (but they give a slicker anime feel to the legs) I have to say I like it better than KOB aesthetically. KOB was extremely well done but in my opinion it was a modern Voltron.
The SOC looks like it does a better job than anyone else has at a "classic" golion. (I never liked the toynamis either).
I know a lot of people were b*tching that they didn't hide the lion legs in robot mode but I really think that is a lot to ask for. This is meant to be a throwback to the Popy DC with some anime touches/features, not an anime accurate toy.

I preordered from BBTS and am happy with the way this turned out.
I can see that the black lion has a neck. But it's hard to make out if the other four do. Can anyone attending SDCC please confirm and take pics from different angles?

wow this thing is selling out very fast (take that voltes v ) joking aside honestly guys im not feeling it, i thought the promo picture didn't give it justice but in fact the promo pictures gives it more the paint isn't vivid the colors are very dark, why they went with this dark kinda matte silver ? in the promo the sliver was very right and bright also notice the red chest piece in the promo you can hardly notice the gap between them in here its very clear and doesn't look like its one piece the face ! the face look like Voltron just woke up not even close to the one in the promo pictures lastly the body looks cubic specially the mid section its remind me of ET Albegas seriously Bandai played it very safe they could do much much better i really hope this is an early prototype and not the final actual thing on the bright side i like how they include the missiles inside the lions months and how articulated the lions are last place that (i know) still have it www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=BAN17110&mode=retail

Midsection looks so square-ish. I thought the figure would have a more V shape to the torso. I've preordered.

so it would include the name plate for both golion (in japanese) and voltron (in english) no matter where we order it from (BBTS or Japan shops)?
the mid section to me is also too thick, but pretty fantastic overall. Looks like no leg-hiding gimmick.
I wonder if they will include the stickers to number the lions!?

I wonder if they will include the stickers to number the lions!? According to the tamashii page it will come with the numbered stickers if you want to go for the old toy look.

I preordered one but I am not liking this one bit. It looks chubby and fat, short and stumpy looking. It's got long legs but short thighs. And the mid torso, the square block just looks odd. The chest symbol also looks way too big. The promo pictures hide the chest/red v separations area pretty nice. But that set up at SDCC is plain awful. The gaps between the red parts on both the left and right side are too big and breaks up the looks. Proportions aren't right. That teaser picture set the bar and expectations level really high for me. I was really hyped and then seeing it finally revealed and it just didn't match the expectation I was hoping for. Hopefully this is one of them figures that looks great in hand, cause I am not impressed with the the reveal pictures.
Just doesn't have that awesome look and feel that I got from SoC Daltanious.
