I got mine from HLJ. The box was damaged due to the fact it barely fits the box they shipped it in and there's nothing to protect the edges from getting creased up or damaged. I contacted them about it and they offered me %20 discount code for future orders. At least I got a positive reaction from them and hopefully they won't do the same with the Megazord. Either that or I will have to get a few more items in the package to be like a buffer. BBTS are by far the best people who package toys. Same thing happened to mine, although not as bad, but it still pisses me off. HLJ isnt a huge mega corporation like Amazon that doesnt care how they package stuff and can afford returns. They cater to collectors and many of us do care about packaging. I actually moved some of my April stuff to Amiami just cause i dont want to get boxes all beaten up.

For SOC Golion owners be careful when you're bending the lower friction joint elbow. Make sure you brace the upper elbow when bending the lower elbow so you do not put unnecessary torque on the upper elbow joint. If you do not follow this method you will end up forming marks on the plastic around the elbow. No stress marks or paint scratches surprisingly, but you will form indentures if you're not careful.

I noticed that the shoulder/arm locking mechanism is a little loose on mine (sliding tab on the black lion). Even when it's locked, it can sometimes come unlocked when I rotate the arms a little, more so with the right arm. Anyone else have this?

But then later I realized it wasn't locked all the way. You gotta wiggle the shoulder a little as you push the tab and it should click. The tab would slide all the way inward. Once locked it's pretty solid.

It's a little annoying but not a major problem for me.

The locking mechanism feels flimsy in comparison to the rest of the figure, and it does worry me it may break in the future.

Also fair warning. My GX-71 that was shipped from HLJ, had the foam and parts trays upside down. Meaning that the front of the box is reversed. This is the first time this happened and I did not expect that so I pulled out the foam tray thinking it was the right side up when it wasn't. Thankfully none of the lions fell out of the tray because I realized what was going on as I was taking the tray out and pulled it along with the part trays to keep them from falling down. It was really weird. Mine was the same way from Amiami. No biggie though since I noticed right away it was upside down. I opened the box on my bed so they would have just fallen on my mattress if they did. But you're right. It's a little weird since it's the first time to have happened to me as well.

It was really weird. I've had that sometimes with other SOC's. I've learned slide it out just enough to see which end is up with the trays, before pulling it all the way out. I also open the boxes on a bed, this way they don't have anywhere to fall, and a soft surface under then if anything does drop out.

It's the first time for me. I had the box on a carpet and the parts were only like 5cm off the floor so it wouldn't have been so bad. I was just worried about small parts falling off and getting lost.

Well my BBTS golion on way finally. I did mot realize they were based in WI. Not too far away from me so hopefully it comes soon. This will be my second one. First one box was dented from Animekings poor packing. If this is pristine I may leave it sealed. I wanted to do the lion mode too, but I may just get another one lol. I love this piece. It is sure to be a classic.

I wonder if potentially this could be the best selling SOC ever, it seems like fans across the world want one of these.

No problem! It's so much better once properly locked. The gap between shoulder and chest is also smaller once locked.

I wonder if potentially this could be the best selling SOC ever, it seems like fans across the world want one of these. I rather suspect that it will be. The original 980's was Bandai/Popy's all time best selling Chokogin, was it not? (If not the best than very very high on the list). Granted it was the years hot item in North America and saw sales and demand via a broad swath of retail department stores, not just toy stores. Do do we know what the best selling SOC has been up to this point? I suspect the various flavors of GX-01 combined top the chart. But Voltron should beat that easy just from North American interest. The only other one that might come close is Daizyujin/MMPR. Those two are sitting on that cross generational late 80's early 90's sweet spot that so fuels the adult nostalgia sales. BTW I R an Idiot. I was getting worried when I didn't get a ship notice from BBTS. Yep! Been sitting in my pile o loot! Gahhh!

I probably give my vote to GX-31. All 3 incarnations are almost sold out.. and remaining ones are fetching above normal prices.

I think Voltes while one of the top sellers, likely did not have as large of production runs as GX01/GX01R etc. and I think both will be blown away by Voltron sales. The only thing that might challenge it would be a new Grendizer heavily sold into the Euro market.
