good points there man but Bandai wanted the GX-71 to an updated version from the vintage one, thats why no anime accurate parts for me i found the lions weapons accurate and good we got some new weapons for the first time in a Voltron toy the missiles in the mouth of the green and red lions does articulate but the yellow and blue lions are molded i agree with you on extra hands for Daizyujin, closed hands and gripping hands like the SRC, effect parts are also cool but not a must we have it in the SRC maybe it will fit into the SOC lol Yeah. I can see why some features were dropped as what I learned from what is actually the design notes for the SoC Gaogaigar and how various features have been dropped one way or another. It would be nice to have those things but it does not negate the fact that this is as far as we know the most complete version of Voltron as a figure.

Finally got to pay for it. Now I hope they can ship this weekend.
FEDEX was actually cheaper and faster than EMS. Go figure.

In my case (Canada), the amount of money I pay for fedex handling and import tax is crazy. Last time I bought the gx-71 from woozy moo. I didn't know they shipped it using fedex. The final bill I received from fedex is 75 Canadian dollars...

Custom brokerage (clearance) is included with FedEx International Priority (and Economy), though it may not save you from paying sale taxes. Fedex ground USA-Canada (what Woozy Moo used, I suppose) is another story. Cheap to ship, but customs brokerage isn't included and that's where it will cost you.

Here's a more in depth look at the figure. Includes unboxing, directors book, transformation and combination. I'm wondering if this is the legacy mold upgraded. Or is it a new mold all together. He seems to have trouble keeping the chest plate together. And the legs keep popping off when he's posing the figure. That may just be him though.

I got mine today and overall i'm very pleased with it. It looks magnificent all over, sharply painted, crisp moulded details. He's got good heft and decent articulation for a combining bot (arms better than legs). He holds together securely with no issue, and is stable to pose. Triceratops & Sabertooth Tiger seem a little half baked - what's there is nicely done but they're pretty simple, no moving treads, limited leg articulation. Triceratops widens at the sides but they don't hold very well, sometimes retracting back in when you hold it. I feel they could have done more with those two. T-Rex is awesome, he poses great and looks the part - all i can see is the show version flailing it's tiny arms! Mastodon is also good, the folding pieces work very cleanly and stay secure well. His front feet are kinda static which is a shame, it seems they could have done more here too. Pterodactyl is the simplest as you'd imagine but it does what it needs to do and looks good! It does seem like it should cost less than Voltron. I personally think it's still worth it, just that Voltron seems like the better deal. Daizyujin probably has more parts, more paint apps - but he's missing all the accessories Voltron has, and even a simple stand/base. Though Daizyujin is bulkier in the chest and legs - he's a fair bit shorter than Voltron. Bandai has them listed as ~26 and ~27cm tall, but with my measure it's 25.5 and 28cm. That's with Voltron's head and chest lowered too, so side by side ... Voltron looks like he could take him Voltron is heavier too (haven't weighed but it's enough that I can tell a difference). It's not disappointing just a little surprising as I was expecting them to be closer in size. Actually, the size difference is mostly in the length of the legs - but proportionally Daizyujin looks perfect. If they scaled everything so as to match Voltron's height, I imagine he'd be ~40000Y and probably look too big overall. Though there's room for minor improvement, this is obviously the definitive version of the character - I don't think we'll see a better Megazord for a long time to come, if ever!

From the video I posted it looks like that person had trouble keeping the chest closed. Especially with the Mastodon head attached in battle mode.

I've only passed through battle mode briefly, the Mastodon head is a bit of weight for the chest door, but it seemed fine. As you close the chest, it's not ratcheted or clipped in or anything, but it feels like it has a weight that pulls it into the closed position. I don't really have a good photo setup but here's one pic next to Voltron!

There is so much done in the review that made me rage a little inside. Like it seems that this guy did not play test it before the review or looked at the instructions beforehand.

Sounds similar to all the Voltron reviews that popped up. Too many people jumped into doing a video review before spending time with the figure. Amazing how many people complained about the elbow articulation before realizing they extended out.

Can the knees in fact bend this deep? And how solid are the connections at the knees?
