My curiosity won despite not being a big fan of power rangers, and I got this. The design grew on me as I've been looking at pics the past months and as I was messing around with mine. I like it a lot!! Having said that, Bandai gave Golion/Voltron a lot of love compared to this release. It's nice and high quality but not quite on the same league as the golion release. Golion is a lot tighter with very little play in the joints, while megazord has a lot more play and joints seems less sturdy. The sculpt seems more detail on golion but it could be the design of the character (card board robot). Golion has fantastic ankle tilt that's not found on megazord. The fake wheels and treads and the loose hold on the mammoth shield doesn't help. Some of the connections seems fragile but nevertheless sturdy enough. Again this isn't really a knock on megazord it's just that Voltron is that good. They look good together. While Bandai could have skimped and just use plastic shoulders on the megazord, they impressed me by painting the shoulder graphics on a metal plate and attaching that to the shoulder instead. One thing I really love about this release is that nothing is left in the box. No redundant parts! Agreed with most of your points. However, are you saying Megazord has zero ankle tilts because it is there in the center block of the ankle to move side to side. I think the only fragile spot on the toy is the clips for the mammoth head being oddly thin. So far no breakages or stress marks (knocks on wood). The metal plates on the shoulders and chest did surprise me and I thought it was a really interesting use of diecast. It's weird I want more accessories, but at the same time it feels really good to not have to keep track of all the loose bits. I love how self-contained this release is. I noticed the blue foot has very limited ankle tilt in the center block but didn't notice any with the sabretooth (edit: I did finally get the ankle tilt on the saber tooth working, it was very tight and has very limited range as well). In any case the outer side of each foot doesn't touch the ground when in A stance. It's stable enough just doesn't impress me the way Voltron did. In addition to the mammoth's thin connection in tank mode, I thought the upper clips on megazord's chest piece were very thin also. I'm also wary about when in tank mode how the bird attaches to the clips in the bottom of mammoths feet. No stress marks or anything breaking yet but those are areas I'd be extra careful with.

Those clips are surprisingly solid despite their size. I usually detach my Mammoth Zord from the top part and pull downwards and away from the main body. The bottom clip also is very solid as well.

Anyone been able to get the lowdown on when this is supposed to hit the domestic scene? This was the one time I could get a better deal sourcing in NA rather than my usual Japan-based haunts.

I had a moving coupon from Amazon....10 percent off any oders till $100 was gone by a set dead line date.
Hence $30 off $300 with prime ( free shipping) ....and no sales tax living in Oregon comes out to around $270 total..
