Good ! But nothing can beat Red Dead Revolver in split mode, with 3 other friends in the same room. Haha. (Now playing only at Towerfall Ascension)

That is a long order Bro, I see the RDR as a GTA but set in the old west. Yet it has its own dominant and personality. not a really big fan of the GTA series however give the credit where its due it is a Smashing Game to say the least and has been around since the PS1 so they had a lot of experience. The RD series which began with the Red Dead Revolver (Stunning Game) was a very basic old west game guns, horse riding and Quick Draw Duels. Comes in the middle The Gun game (not a part of the series) introduced the side missions and the open world concept in an old west game. Fast forward to 2010 where the Juggernaut arrived RDR, it had everything there, believe me that when I was playing it I was telling myself what could possibly be there to have for the next game. (Hope to be surprised) To say it short, a great game it is, but a GTA it will never be TH’x

Got a few hours in. Great game, very immersive and very detailed world, impressive and long dialogues. Looks really great with very nice animations too. But the gameplay controls are very clunky and unresponsive and your character moves really slow. Can get frustrating and get you killed, or run into trouble by accident not detecting what it is suppose to do, struggling in and out of cover, or pick up the wrong loot...etc. Need some patience to enjoy for sure.

i didnt get the game or play yet waiting for a physical copy
i understand open world game can and will have alot of problems and its something to be expected from Rock Star
ive read that the game have problem specially in the HDR mode, because its fake so if you having any problems kill the HDR and play in regular mode
i think the game will have ton of updates in the future

i finally managed to play a little of this game this will sound odd to some but this is how i feel, this game is a strong remind why i stopped playing game from Rock Star here is why the same exact button could do alot of things and its up to you to remember which is which and when is when the "reality" thing, i play video game to enjoy and escape reality i dont need the game to till me your character is hungry or your character is tired go sleep i want to play not to do things i should do in real life the auto save in this game is stupid, if you replay a mission to get a better scorer it wont save your progress unless you move to another area after you finish replaying that mission, found that the hard way the timed events, which will happen only in an exact time of the game, also if you hunting and the animal escaped come back 3 days later for another chance (do i look like i have time for this BS)
the game have a weird mentality, in some situation you want to be an outlaw but the game want you to be the good guy and vice versa either you force the player to do want you want or make give them complete freedom
and this is just in the very beginning of the game i wonder what else i will find by going deeper lol
on the other hand i like the graphics even tho the HDR in the game is broken and fake

You are not alone. There are plenty people feel the same (myself included), and have issues with different aspects of the game, including, but not limited to stuff you mentioned. Plenty of debates on game forums, even though the game has accolade reviews and gigantic sales figures. I really enjoyed it in the few days I played, and got to chapter 2. But once I put it down, I never got back to it due to reasons you pointed out, as well as the sluggish controls (almost 1 second delay to do anything, including a simple turning of your character's direction or try to pick up an item). Destiny 2, no issue. Monster Hunter World, no issue going back either. But Red Dead 2, I am just not motivated to continue my journey. I am very interested to find out how the story goes and what things to explore, but not fond of 'playing' it, if you know what I mean. I got an example for you. One side mission I came across, discovered a small farm with 6-8 hostile farmers that I can take down assassin style ambushing them one by one and can get a weapon when done killing them all. But the game always auto spawn one of them off camera on horse back and flee. Wouldn't be an issue as I can chase that last dude on horse back, right? Wrong. The dude can disappear on your map if you let it flee a long enough distance, even if you are actively chasing. And what if I caught up and killed the fleeing dude and go back to the farm to collect that gun? Nope, his whole dead family respawned as if the fight never happened. I started to clean them up again, then the off-camera fleeing dude happens again while the fight happens and goes my second chase. After all that, guess what happen? Yup, his family resurrected again!!! Regardless I managed to cut the chase shorter each time. Ended up I get it done on my 4th or 5th try, by purposely lure all the farmers close to the off-camera dude's spawn area (still never see how he flee visually though), so that I can catch up to him ASAP right after all the farmers are dead, but before triggering the game's reset programming/behavior. But how would the player know or expect all these buggy AI trickery in just a normal side quest they just randomly came across? Just this one mission fizzled out a lot of my enjoyment. Game trying to be tactical and dramatic, but it didn't consider the frustration of the player when things are 'buggy' or turn out in odd ways due to this game's logic or AI. You want to be an outlaw here? Nope, can't do. Sorry you are dead. Try again sir. You want to be a nice guy here? Nope can't do. Sorry your progress is null. Try again sir. You want the game to tell you when you should be good or bad? Nope, can't do that either. Staring at the wrong NPC? Arrest this ba$t*rd!!! .....But killing him is OK.

thank you for sharing, specially for that glitchy mission now i know whats im up against lol, and i exactly understand what you mean
totally agree with you on the point "not motivated to continue my journey" some games i swear i couldn't let the controller down i skip gym just to play it like horizon zero dawn and god of war, but with this game i keep find excuses not play it exactly like when i was in university i keep finding side activities so i skip studying lol
back to RDR2 the lag is as you mentioned is REAL, i was hunting and i wanted to put the animal on my horse the character just kept looking but when i move he start to put the animal then moved away, i stayed there for a good 15 second till i figured out i need to wait for the character until he is finish putting the animal, wow
also loading time is insanely long ! man you have assassin's creed God of war horizon zero dawn all are open world games but it wont take that long for them to load !
no photo mode ? come on
what annoys me the most is they want you to do challenges within the mission but you CANT see them until the mission is finished you have to BUY some kind of guide to see them before you play and to top it off you need to to ALL of the challenges in 1 run which is time consuming, im an adult now i dont have time to replay the exact same mission 10 times i have much important stuff to do
and the annoying realistic thingy is keep getting worst, i was ruining very low on health so i hunt and i sat to eat, then a notification came up "if you overate you will become fat that will affect your stamina" dude i dont NEED that, i want to fill my health bar, would a normal heath kit hurt you why they are making it so complected its a game i want do to what i cant in real life not have another fictional life where i have to maintain my shape
here is a funny stranger mission for you
there is this guy who kidnapped this woman, so i catch him with a lasso and ignored him to catch his horse and the woman it was a good distance however he managed to catch up (i guess he was the flash in disguise) he started shooting at me i did the same and killed him then i got a dishonorable point used my back up manual save replayed it again, tied the dude up and went to help the woman because the horse got stuck on something i accidentally rammed him lol the woman felt and i got another dishonorable point replayed it for a 3rd time (keep in mind im going crazy i hate replaying annoying stuff) i did every thing good and i saved the woman BUT no honorable point i made another back up manual save replayed the mission and killed them ALL horse included
