So MP-39 is finally revaled to be Sunstraker, well at least the final touches has already been made for it. Can't really remember who that green blog thing is that is sticking in his face. No release date yet. Source:    |

Damn this looks good. Its similar to BadCube SunSurge but much better in proportions. The back kibble is much cleaner. Also the back of the vehicle mode is also improved and much better than SunSurge. Option to transform it into the SuperCar Mode look or just normal Countach. One of the major complaints people have with the 3rd party Sunstreaker is the duck feet. Here Takara is clever to only have the side of the front headlight part as the feet. The actual hood and the center of the front windshields folds away. Looks like the other two sides of the front windshields hides into the leg along with the door and the side windows. It's has a fake chest transformation so people that didn't like SunSurge for that reason is not gonna like the Official MP. But the proportions and the look of the official MP SunStreakers chest looks better. I've said that I don't buy 3rd party products as Stand Ins/place holders but SunSurge will be replaced with this. I've always felt that 3rd parties shouldnt make MP figures. Sure it's nice to have options, but so far, I prefer the looks of official releases way more.

This is awesome. At least they're back to cars as Takara/Tomy still have lots to go for G1. Now if they can only go and do the triple-changers - that'll be excellent - also Insecticons - as they also need the masterpiece treatment.

Sunstreaker looks great. I will always have a soft spot for him. I remember getting the original in the mail from some offer Hasbro was doing. It was awesome getting him in the mail as a kid! LOL

Have to say Takara wins on this round. Their Sunstreaker clearly looks the best from previous 3rd party attempts.

Just sold my MP12 Sideswipe a 1 week before MP12+ got announced so I might get it. Both are now available in Nippon, cheaper than anime export but not that much |
