Just opened my Premium Finish Macross. Its Badass! Almost all the panel lines that are there on the sculpt is filled with dark gray. Though not all spots are perfect, and the gray is not solid, almost has the same look of a Real Touch Gundam Marker, with bigger filler shapes half transparent and hand filled (slight negative, not perfectly clean). Also, on the production sample, you see a lot of the glowing 'windows' all over in the generic glow in the dark pale green and pale orange. This distract the look in bright day light a little, since there are many (they didn't show them in early promo pics). The interior Macross City in the leg now also has some of those painted in. But man, when you bring this thing into a dark room after exposing it to some light, all those glow in the dark 'windows' glow in vibrant green and reddish orange. Its a sight to behold. Not sure how well this work under blacklight, as I don't have the blacklight setup yet. But now seeing how well it glows in the dark, I may not even need the blacklight. One thing forgot to mention. The display stand for ship mode, while looks exactly the same as original release, now clips onto the belly very snug instead of having the ship just loosely cradled/rested on top. Took me a few mins to figure that out as the display stand doesn't seem to fit at first, but actually need you to push the ship down so it sort of 'clicks in', so when you lift the ship, the stand lift with it (not the case with Yamato's original). Overall, very happy with this. The detail paint job, while not perfect, really bring out the details immensely. Very nice photos from peeps at MacrossWorld: www.macrossworld.com/mwf/topic/44903-arcadia-sdf-1-movie-version-13000-reissue/?page=43The Chinese video comparing the 2 versions.

Looks cool. A modeler with skill could do the Premium Finish better, I think. I'm not too crazy about the fluorescent green and orange. Just seems "cartoony". But the panel lining, etc, even some proper weathering, could do wonders for the Regular Ver.

For the price, it should not have this kind of sloppiness.

this came 4 weeks ago, finally got to take him out last night. It's a gorgeous piece.......the ARMDs are for sure much harder to get on compared to the Yamato version. Haven't put on the screw covers yet. Hoping to free the VF-31A, regult pack, and Big O full package from their brown boxes soon.

...the ARMDs are for sure much harder to get on compared to the Yamato version... Actually I find the exact opposite. I think the manual tell you to clip onto one edge, and push in the other. I struggled for a minute before looking at the instructions (thought I remember better, but uh-huh, no go). Then re-read the instructions on that step, and it took 10 secs and clicked in. The second arm went in even faster.

It’s the extra coating that makes the tolerance tighter.

It’s the extra coating that makes the tolerance tighter. When I was not doing it right, it won't go in even when I tried to force it. When I later doing it right hooking on the specific edge and angle it in while I push, it goes in pretty easy (to a point I was surpised actually). When doing the other arm, same easy click and it went in. I remember I was sweating trying to get my Yamato arms in place, so much so when I sold it to a friend, I dare not to detach the arms (worry stressing the connection) and put it in a bigger box with padding. The important thing is we both got them in and having a good time looking at this awesome piece. Still need to find time put in the sprue parts though.

Perhaps I wasn’t doing it right either? It’s in now so I won’t worry about it for now. But next time I attach it I’ll pay attention to the instruction. Thanks!
