guys i noticed something at the bottom of the photo its says licensed by annimation Inc or intl i dont know, the point is its not licensed by WEP ! so who own the rights here ? if it was an easy license all along then Bandai have no excuses here, now i want 2 version SRC and SOC lol when the preorder start and how much they will charge ? It looks like it's a sub license from a licencor of Toei. Which would make sense. WEP went back and fully bought out GoLion and Dairuger worldwide after they had success with them. They might not have done that with Albegas. If they have any remaining rights to it it is likely North American/European only as they never actually used it except as the Matchbox Toy. It may be one of those weird situations like we see sometimes. Action Toys seems real adept at approaching licenses through cheap and questionable backdoors. Case in point their Machine Robo line. Bandai wholly owns Machine Robo. Action Toys is making fiigures under some sort of licensing by the animation studio that made the cartoon based on the toys IP. This would be kind of like the remnants of Sunbow Productions bypassing Hasbro and Takara and issuing their own Transformers license for toys. Animation Limited is apparently a Hong Kong based middleman that as near as I can tell sells or syndicates older shows onto TV station into China and the far east. They do have some sort of merchandise licensing arm. Safe bet is their ability to license for product like this is exceptionally suspect. But... CHINA! I mean buying an actual license from the guy who just sells the old TV shows to a Chinese channel, even if the seller doesn't really own the license, is almost legitimate in relative terms to normal Chinese licensing and IP practices. So win?

That’s Evolution Toy. Still the only decent looking Albegas to date. Don’t really care for his new action figure. Bandai, answer the call. Whoops, I forgot it was Evolution Toy. But yeah it's like the only other combining Albegas toy outside of the Popy ones right? guys i noticed something at the bottom of the photo its says licensed by annimation Inc or intl i dont know, the point is its not licensed by WEP ! so who own the rights here ? if it was an easy license all along then Bandai have no excuses here, now i want 2 version SRC and SOC lol when the preorder start and how much they will charge ? Also, if you can use torrent here's a link to the tv series raw no subs, still better then nothing. Linkcool man i was looking for the RAW since ever lol thx Albegas was actually in a mobile SRW game a while back and they were licensed by Toei, so that was a sure indicator that WEP has no ownership over Albegas and that it's Toei's property. The most WEP did was sell its toys through Matchbox back in the 80s but the fact that they never actually aired Albegas episodes meant that they didn't really need to buy the rights to it when buying the entire Voltron IP from Toei. Also Action Toys did sell a combining Albegas toy a couple years back. thanks for the info, so Bandai have no reason that holding them for doing it ? and that's the ET version i talked about earlier lol, i was so close of buying but THANK GOD i didn't, its just a pile of awfulness the plastic they used was cheaper than the plastic they use for plastic sthingys and the proportion are just wrong, in the photos it look kinda normal but in person , not to mention the limited ancient articulation system, all that and they had the guts to overprice it lol for me i think action toys version is a winner, anime accurate looks, diecast and its taller than the ET version all i care about now is the articulation of AT version and the price

the video has been block by WEP. now THAT answers you all guys question about its licensing. Eh? Were are you from? Because it's not blocked here in Canada. WEPtv - the channel it's posted on - seems to be WEP's official Youtube channel. It's probably a geographical block. The video is a fan montage of the Voltron theme over footage of Albegas and Voltron, in the style of WEP's Lion Force and Vehicle Force openings. So even if it was someone else's channel and they had hit it with a copyright strike, it wouldn't mean that they owm Albegas (in the US, or anywhere else). It could be because of the theme and the other Voltrons' footage.

Weirdly, looking at this thing I do see a potential way to do a stylized Albegas like this that can be shifted between the 9 combined robot modes, so long as you can tolerate part swapping. The trick would be to steal an idea from the old Soul Spec line. Make the robot an articulated frame with changable armor. So each armor segment has red, blue or black options. and 3 heads.

Not so easy you should also change leg combinations and arms.

when confirmed its a non combiner..i just lost interest in this. but yeah.. it isnt bad seeing some few updates,, even new pics. actually maybe an update that they realized that a non-combiner is non-sense.. and scrapped the project.. and decided they would do a combiner instead. LOL

I'll venture to say that even if it's a non-combiner I'll buy it. This is probably going to be the pinnacle Albegas toy for a while as far as the sculpt/design goes. Nothing that I know of has ever come close to the look they gave it and they didn't push it to be too modern looking - I get the feeling that there is a lot of soul here.

As a fan I'll be buying it for sure. But also as a fan I want a combiner with a similar level of quality to recent soc releases (something like voltron would be perfect, but I'd be done with something like the megazord)

I love the look if this figure, and I'd buy anything that's Albegas. (I actually bought 2 of Evolution Toy's release). I'm 100% in.
There's no way this combines. But, are any if you familiar with the old POPY/BANDAI ST that included red, blue and black plates that held to the front. This allowed for the creation of the different dimensions. I've wanted one for a while, but I can never find one in decent shape. Anyway, maybe Action Toys will incorporate a similar gimmick.

Ofcourse it depends on what type of collector u belong. in my case.. i collect just one figure per each series. as much as possible, i prevent myself having doubles. or else..i end up selling the other figure. so buying a non-functioning toy is not an option. but if youre the type who collects multiple figures, focusing on a single character.. then this is one good representation.
